FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Peggy, My son Brian did not go on the underway. They wanted him to do grief counseling before they deployed. Brian wants to look for him so they can meet. What is your son's last name? Brian says they go by last names.

jeremy must be on an underway too. i thought it was only for a week, but ut has been longer than a week. i hope you are able to go to hawaii after deployment ellen, that wil be awsome for you and lee. jeremy plans on coming home after deployment,for a little while.

thank you pat. it will be a change from the weather in the state i live in (montana) we got 6 or 7 inches of snow just today. we are suppose to get 3 to 5 more inches tonight.

hi everyone haven't been able to comment on here been busy moving. hope everyone has a great thanksgiving. I am thankful that my family will get to see my son before deployment. We will be going to hawaii in the next few days. The farthest i have been away from home is when we went to chicago. We also have a nephew stationed in hawaii, haven't seen him in years. haven't talked to my son in over a week. hope he calls soon.

Its a bummer Myles is missing out on the quick trip, but he is settling in. I can't believe he can text me from Hawaii just like New York. Technology is amazing! We are going to be in San Diego for Thanksgiving visiting our nursing daughter. We are flying our other daughter out there with her husband as they missed out on a honeymoon ( she went to Iraq as an Army MI),. We were hoping Myles could be there as we all haven't been together for two years, but it wasn't meant to be...

PeggyB, Even if preparations are uncertain, he is in HAWAII, how bad could it be????hahaha!
