well, tha'ts interesting about the NH deal. Myles' had just heard about it through the grapevine, but I guess its going to happen! He won't get alot of Hawaii time but more than I have ever had (which is none)! I like the idea of schooling. hopefully Myles gets the same vibe.

Good morning, Ellen, There is a good blog about emailing subs on Kaye S. page. Also, I was just curious about how your sailors feel about the drydock deal? Wonder what they do in NH for 2 years??

My son Jeremy drove from Conn. to home in Montana when he finished his schooling, a couple of weeks later he drove to Seatle/Tacoma where he shipped his car from. Now that is cross country driving. When we got to Tacoma it was easy to ship his car the only thing is it takes a while 30 days to get it. He drives all over. He was told he could not leave base without a car. No news about the boys of anything upcoming that I know of yet. Jeremy don't say much either. To all the women in our group STAY STRONG.

Well, mine is packing up in New York to drop his stuff and his car at our house. He has decided its probably not worth shipping his car because it sounds like it would not be used for awhile. Its a bummer that his report date is 11-17 as a week later on Thanksgiving, we are flying out to San Diego with our oldest daughter and husband to visit the middle daughter. I was hoping Myles could meet us as we haven't all been together for two years...not going to happen...sigh....

Still haven't heard from our son. I think he is working odd hours. He is an EM and is in Saratoga right now. We are in Midland, MI but our middle daughter went to GrandValley in Grand Rapids, MI, so we know it well. She is an RN and is in San Diego. We were hoping that's where Myles would end up, but he seems ok with this if I am reading his FB status correctly! ;)

Hi Peggy, My son is a Nuke also (EM) and reported to the Pasadena on Aug. 30. We live in the Chicago suburbs now but both my husband and I grew up near Grand Rapids, MI!!!! My son had his car shipped to Hawaii and he says the BEQ's are very nice. Hope to talk to you again. Pat

Good morning, Yesterday we received a letter from the CO of the Pasadena. It was about how important family support is, etc. etc. My husband took a picture of it and sent it to Jeff's phone with a message about how the CO seems like a nice guy and tell him we said "HI"!!! And then we LAUGHED!!!! Hope Jeff thinks it's funny too!

Hi Everyone, My sailor, Jeff, arrived in Hawaii on Aug. 23 and reported to the "Dena" on Aug. 30. This group must be new because I searched around that time and no one had started a USS Pasadena group. So glad that there are other moms with kids on the same boat.
