Heard from my son today also. Packages coming in on time now. It was great to see him and hear his voice.

It usually takes her 2 weeks to get a box we sent her.  I just heard from her today too.  All is well and they are getting a little down time.  Marking off the days until this is over and she returns back to her base.  She got our home made peanutbutter cookies with a kiss and shared them with her friends.  Said they were not stale.  That is good because it takes 2 weeks to get them to her.  We really wrapped them up good.  Just sent her some home made no bake chocolate oatmeal fudge/cookies.  Hope they get there soon.

I know what you mean d0shir01. I dont know if we are going to be able to go see the ship come in either.. $$$ It makes me sad because I missed my other Sailor Son's ship homecoming by 30 minutes when they came home. We were told the wrong time to be there. Poor sailor at the gate.. I am crying and my husband is trying to make me feel better and the sailor gate guard felt awful for me. lol how embarrassing lol Well like you said, they get to come home for a while.

My daughter has not had any trouble getting her boxes.  She said she has gotten them all so far.  I am glad.  She did get to call us a couple of times on Christmas day.  It was good to hear from her.  I can't wait until this is all over and they get to come home.  Although I won't be there to see her arrive and get off the ship - just too expensive to fly there and stay.  I will have to wait until she can fly home to see us.  I would so love to be there and give her a big kiss and hug.

PH not so great with up dates.. we still have time to work on them :) my our ship came in, they gave us list of hotels to check out for home coming, Oahu is not a big island so im guessing  there wont be a list

Sorry I havent been on sooner.

My son has got some of his packages now. Luck of the draw of mail with replenishments if they get their mail or not. Did get his Christmas package.  @d0shir01 I am happy you found the Hamilton's fb page. Sorry if I was very negative with my previous post. It is just that my other son's captain on his frigate was very picture happy while they were deployed so that we all could see our loved ones. He never posted names of those he was posting, but we knew them.

On the lighter note. I hope all had a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy Safe New Year.

We did get a phone call from our son Christmas Eve and some computer chat Christmas Day.   Said they were all very busy, doing ok and of course as all on the ship .. wishing he could be home for Christmas.

I want to go to Hawaii when they get back.. anyone had experience with the ship with return deployments? Do they give ample enough time for loved ones on the mainland to arrange hotels, etc to be there?

Sailor said they had an underway replenishment yesterday which was very cool. but he did not get any of his packages yet. He has at least 6 coming from family members - all were sent around the 10th or 11th. Just an FYI in case anyone is wondering about packages- hoping maybe they might get one more drop of packages before Christmas. Merry Christmas all!
