I recived a shot e-mail late sunday night.
Anybody heard anything?
Well, I haven't heard from her in last couple of days - they must be moving again. I have sent her 4 boxes - she hasn't received them yet - but she thought the mail would catch up with them at this next port. I sent 2 boxes and then waited 2 weeks and sent 2 more boxes. I told her to let me know when she gets them. Their internet is down - hopefully they get that fixed soon.
She said they also did white water rafting after the elephant ride. These will be things they will probably never get to do again. I am glad they are getting to do some things. There is not that many girls on ship, so I am sure your son and my daughter know each other and went on the elephant ride at the same time.
I know, she called me at 2:00 a.m. I answered, but I think she realized it was the middle of the night and said she would call me back later. She just called this morning and say the girls had a day out - facials, massages and putting their feet in a fish tank while the fish ate dead skin on their feet. She said it was neat. She is taking plenty of pictures, which she didn't do on the last deployment.
My daughter called this weekend. She said their internet was down and they still have not received any mail - that it should catch up with them soon. She rode elephants at this last port and said they had a great time. At the last port she said they went to a head hunters village. I told her to take plenty of pictures. I am glad they can have some fun through all of this. Get it while they can. I will be glad when they return home safe and sound.
very nice CRF
Cool, Thanks for the pic. I just googled PH looking for a pic to help identify. Did you know this is the third PH Destroyer?
The Nimitz-class aircraft carriers USS George Washington (CVN 73), USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), the guided-missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay (CG 53), the guided-missile destroyers USS McCampbell (DDG 85) and USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60) and the guided-missile frigate USS Vandegrift (FFG48) steam together in formation. Ships and aircraft of the George Washington and John C. Stennis carrier strike groups are currently exercising to hone their collective interoperability, readiness, and the capability to respond quickly to various potential crises in the region, ranging from combat operations to humanitarian assistance. As two of the Navy’s 11 global force carrier strike groups, the strike groups are further ensuring security, stability and peace in the vital Asian-Pacific region.
