Has anybody else heard from anyone in the last week?

I talked to my daughter this morning on the phone.  She said their internet/email was down.  They are staying very busy.  She said we will not hear from them for a long time after today.  That is all she could say - no details.

My daughter's boyfriend sent her a box for her birthday.  He couldn't send her much so he took a video of all of her family saying hi and happy birthday.  I think she will really enjoy that more than a gift.  We all sent her cards too.  She said they do not have much room to store anything.  Happy Birthday to my daughter.

We had not heard from her for several weeks and I was worried.  She sounds great.  She could not tell us alot, but she did say they are in a safe place.  She said she would try to call me again tomorrow.  She said she took her test for an E4 and won't know if she passed it for a couple of months.  They were busy but also had some down time to play some cards.  She did say June may be extended a couple of months as far as coming back to their home base.  But not for sure of anything right now, depends alot on what happens in the next month or so.  She said some people could not do any communications or very little depending on what job they held on the ship - that was why we did not hear from her until now.  We will continue to pray for them.

I got a phone call this morning (3/21/11) and finally got to talk to my daughter.

Apparently they are involved in alot of stuff.  She can't tell us anything for right now.

Sounds good though.  So happy to hear from her.  They are back in the same place they were before.  I told her to be careful.

Thanks Julie, this is my first deployment and it has been rough. Although when ever something happens I call my other son who is stationed in Hawaii and he gives me info to calm my mind... hahaha.
