Angel, heavens no, my comment was directed to the person who wrote something insulting that was directed at you.  I was defending you and all the rest of us who respect the privacy laws.  The rude comments have been removed but I don't know if this person is still in the group.  Pinckney moms have each other's backs.

Theresa, I see your confusion now and why my comment looked bad! I just read all the current questions before my comment and it does look awful! What happened here was that right before my comment, someone had put the actual date they pull into port and that's what I was wondering about. Seeing it posted here, I thought maybe their return date was ok to post. I truly didn't know the answer, but you had no way of knowing why I wrote that comment, cuz the comment with the date had been deleted!

Hi Theresa! If you were talking about my comment, I would definitely not want to sound rude!! Sometimes in texts and emails, a person can be misread, but I would never be anything less than gracious or friendly here! :)

I was told the same thing when I joined this group and she thought I would be offended, too, but I wasn't, just grateful for the remeinder!  (Comment by clockardon October 19, 2011 at 6:50pm

"Sometime in February" is all we should say in this public forum! If you are not familiar with OPSEC, please read here: Community Guidelines)

I have tried to read this comment from different perspectives but still keep feeling the "ouch".  I hope I am wrong.  I am fortunate enough to know Navy protocol having grown up in a Navy family in Norfolk, VA but I can sympathize with the moms who are a long way away from the military lifestyle.  We as moms want to know what our children are doing, but are intimidated by all the secrecy surrounding the ship and its activities.  I like to google the USS Pinckney, search for articles published within the last week to figure out what is going on.  Our sailors can't tell us anything until it's released to the media.

I didn't know we could go public with that date yet...according to my son we are not to say the ship's movement for security reasons until they actually get to a particular port. Is it different for when they come back home? I have so much to learn!

Hi Everyone, new to the page.  Is anyone going on the Tiger Cruise?  I'm so anxious to see my son !!

Hi, gregsgirl71!  What will your son do on the ship?  My son works on helicopters.  The Pinckney has been out there since August.  We are ready to see them come home!  :)

Hi all... my son is on his way to the Pinckney as we speak... he left San Diego last night...

Welcome...you can send her domestic phone cards.  I got mine from Costco and sent them to my son, but they don't need the actual card.  Save time and email her the phone codes so she'll be able to use it right away.  Happy chatting.
