Ok. I've Friend requested 3x already. I can't send a message because were are not friends. If someone knows this person would you please ask her to add me? Thanks!
The FRG is the Family Readiness Group. They meet once a month, do fundraising, do the Homecoming ect... Its open to family, wives, partners ect... There is a President, VP, Secretary & Treasurer. The Ombudsman is a separate thing... the Ombudsman is a Liaison between the Squadron (guys in charge of the Subs out here) and the families. If you get in contact with the FRG & Ombudsman you will be on the email lists & phone trees. The Ombudsman can prob better explain everything... and you have to make sure your son has you on his "page 5"... (he will know what that is)
I have no idea who the ombudsman is or what they do. What is a FRG board?
Wow, this is really a quiet group. My son is on this sub. Since we live in Arizona, we cannot be there when they come into port. If anyone takes pictures and or video of when they come in or leave, please post them here. I would love to see them! Thank You in advance!
Thanks for the welcome crsmircic13! He is an MM A-gangor. He finished mm school on the 7th and has been home for two weeks. I'm sad to see him go, but can't help but be excited because he is so excited. Groton was his first choice on his wish list.
Who do you have on the Pitts?
Hi everyone! My son will be joining the Pittsburgh on March 24th. We have twin sons in the Navy, but only one submariner. He is home on transfer leave, but will return to Groton Monday. I'm sure I will have lots of questions soon, but for now I just wanted to introduce myself.
How can I find out about upcoming underway times? Also who to contact when the ship is underway in case of an emergency?
Hi everyone. My son just got to the Pittsburgh 2 weeks ago. I just wish I lived closer to Groton. Can anyone give me the address for the boat to mail packages to. He has been so busy with qual cards & all. Is there an FRG for the boat? He put me on the list to be contacted for everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
