Loving a Sailor isn't much fun
but its worth the price when the battle is won.
And remember he's thinking of you every day,
he's sad and he's lonely while so far away.
So love him and miss him and hold your head high,
Be strong and have faith, wipe that tear from your eye.
Your man's a seafarer, like that old ancient trader,
It's a high price you pay for loving a Sailor!

Talked to my son for about 5 min, he says they are having a great time and everyone is doing well. They opened all the boxes and passed things around. He said it made everyone happy, just a lil' piece of home. My son loved Mexico and was pretty excited to use his Spanish speaking skills. Talked to a bartender for 4hrs, and ordered his first beers and shots, very cheap! He was in heaven there and now can't wait to see the other ports. Hope all of your sons are having a great time too!

Families,

Kudos to you all for making it through one of the hardest parts of deployment...the first week!

By now, most of you have probably had some of your emails returned back to you as undeliverable. The ships communication is down as of now, however, as I receive information from the command in regards to the length of time or when it may be coming back you all will be the first to hear it from me. In the meantime, please remember to not re-send any emails that you may have already sent. These emails sit in queue and will be delivered when the email comes back up. Re-sending emails will overload the system and may possibly cause a longer delay in delivery time. Since they are not able to receive or send out any emails now, it is also recommended that you not send any new emails for the time being.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Welcome Steph to the group!

sorry ladies I haven't been on here much, working alot, eat dinner, go to bed! What a life? lol

We've had a few emails come in already and all is going well from what I hear, the old girl is still floating.  I wish I could have sent them off as well, but I will be there when they come back in. Saving my pennies for all the fun!

Just to let all of you know that they haven't broken open the boxes yet :) I told my son he has to share.  He's gonna start a movie night and hand out some goodies for them. I just hope they enjoy it all and it puts a smile on their faces.

Wow 6 years, congratulations!! I sent my son a camera so that he can take as many pics as possible. He went to Eucador a few years ago on a mission trip and loved it. He said the only downside was eating chicken and rice everyday for every meal. I've got to get dinner going now but I'll keep in touch.

I am sure that he knows about putting in his package.  Some ships are different my ship i had to be on for 18 months before submitting my conversion package.  anything you want to know I can tell you I have been in almost 6 years and I have done the whole deployment thing, except for the deployment that they are on is different then most deployments they are not with a strike group they are by themselves and going all in south america which is awesome i wish i could have gone on that deployment
