Rhonda - My son loves it when they go out to sea, he says it's not boring like it is while they are in port. It hasn't been a year yet for my son but he's adjusting to life on a ship. He still isn't too happy about being undes. but he said he can strike for a rate in Sept.
I hope you guys can get out to CA, the weather is perfect and it's just beautiful out there. I've been out there 4 times and I really hate leaving. If my husband didn't have such a good job here we'd be out there in a heartbeat. I was asked by my company to move to Minneapolis and I told them no way! Thank God I didn't move, you guys up North have had your share of horrible weather this year.
Please let me know if/when you guys can go out to San Diego and I'll let you know the ins and outs of staying on base if you don't already know. I can also let you know what there is to do while you're there.
Well... I guess there is gonna be drills, inspections and mini deployments for the next month or so. Let's all hope that they pass, so all the sailors can go on leave before they go on the big one in May. I just wanted to wish them the best!
babrams--my son got new tattoos on the back of his biceps, it says "Never Quit"! I told him he better live by those words now. He has so far :) He's had it pretty rough his first year. My hubby and I are thinking about moving out there, told my son to make E-5 first. He says we would love it out there. Sure beats freezing in Wisconsin.
MY SON IS GETTING FROCKED TODAY!!!
I just wanna congratulate my son, he's worked very hard to earn this! Very proud of him for achieving something so fast. Love ya, son!
