Loving a Sailor isn't much fun
but its worth the price when the battle is won.
And remember he's thinking of you every day,
he's sad and he's lonely while so far away.
So love him and miss him and hold your head high,
Be strong and have faith, wipe that tear from your eye.
Your man's a seafarer, like that old ancient trader,
It's a high price you pay for loving a Sailor!

sailornanns mom-- what does your son do on the ship? My sister and I are trying to put together some things we thought the guys would like and get it sent out before their deployment in May. Like movies, snacks, etc. try to boost moral a bit while they are out. I'll let you know how it's going.

I see we are a small group, but I am happy to be included in the number. My son has been on the Rentz for almost a month. He's still trying to learn his way around. We are from Alabama and this is a big move for him, never been that far away from home. Hopefully we can keep one another abreast on things b/c as you all can imagine, I am happy, but still a little worried. Anchors away!

Well the Rentz went out on her trial run after being in dry dock for several months, all good! She's ready for a long deployment. It was the first time my son has ever been on a ship and he loved it. He said it was alot of hard work but I think what he experienced out weighed all of that. Never did get sick, maybe he will be one of the lucky ones. We will see when the seas get rough! Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Welcome Dawn to the group, is your son on the ship? Mine is an EM and really likes the old girl. Loves being in SD too!
