Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS is an OLIVER HAZARD PERRY Class Frigate
SHIELD: The shield is divided into navy blue, red and yellow, suggesting the shoreline of Guadalcanal and the Marines who were trapped there in September 1942. The three stars allude to the Naval Forces who volunteered to rescue the hard-pressed Marines. The gold star represents Coxswain Samuel B. Roberts, Jr., who was mortally wounded during this mission when his boat drew enemy fire away from the other boats embarking the Marines. The three stars also represent the three ships named for Samuel B. Roberts, Jr.; the gold star denotes the current ship.
CREST: The lion, a symbol of courage, signifies Samuel B Roberts' Spirit. The lion's red claws and tongue symbolize Samuel B Roberts' ultimate sacrifice for his comrades ; the blue collar bearing a cross pattee convexed indicates that Samuel B Roberts' died in battle and was awarded the Navy Cross for his gallant actions. The lion is grasping in his paws a blue torch, suggesting the passing on of Naval history. The lightning bolts represent the armament of this ship, and indicate the quick-strike capabilities of the modern warship.
MOTTO: Admiral Copeland, then LCDR, Commanding Officer of DE 413, concluded his report of the Battle of Samar, with these words; "In the face of this knowledge, the men zealously manned their stations wherever they might be, and fought and worked with such calmness, courage, and efficiency that no higher honor could be conceived than to command such a group of men."

Dianne, any news on the MRI and spinal tap results? My husband was told about your son this morning when he went in for duty, he and I both hope for good news soon, I'm sorry what should have been a wonderful visit has turned into a nightmare for you all.

They are expected to pull in at 10am. And the weather prediction has gone from 65 to 68, Yippeee...LOL! I thank you all for your welcomes to the group, the Navy has most Def drained me these last 118 days!!! But it's almost over and in less than a year we will be retiring! I miss having my best friend around!!! :)

I just called the Ombudsman and still no word on what peer the boys will be pulling into! I do know that they are expected to be ON TIME! :) As for the gate, if your name is on the list, make sure you have picture ID and any rental/registration information in hand incase the guard asks. Its a very laid back Military base. As far as adding someone to the list, you can call the Ombudsman if you would like. Ginny (904)673-3424, not sure if she could help you get a name on the list or not. The boys are at a point in which they are switching their COMMS systems over and email might not be what we would like for it to be over the next day or two.

So two of the 7 of the group won't be able to attend the home coming? Or are there others that won't be there? You can take lots of picture's! Bring Picture ID with you. Have your name put on the list at the gate so you can get in. Bring a chair if you plan to come early. From the time you see the boat pulling into the harbor till the time they first step off will be about 30-45 minutes and if you have no plans to hang out you can leave when liberty is called. If you want to walk about the boat you can be there for a while. Put on some comphy shoes and enjoy yourself. I will get there within 10/15 minutes of pull in time because my nerves and waiting will just drive me insane! LOL!
