While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son is just about to graduate Prototype in Ballston Spa, NY and will be arriving in San Diego around June 12th. I know nothing about sub life. Hoping I can learn it here.

That is a great career for Aaron. I know he will do exceptionally well, especially having all his experience of Navy life behind him. Gee, I hope everything gets straightened out with the tax laws. I didn't realize they had to pay a boat load of taxes when they leave with an honorable discharge. He certainly deserves not to be hurt financially with taxes after serving our country. He may have to pay a boat load of taxes. He's waiting to hear from his lawyer. He wants to go into psychology, maybe become a social worker.

Colleen, I know a few people back home in NJ that just had that terrible stomach bug!! I definitely feel for you!!! What would Aaron like to go into to now as his carreer? Taxes.......Hmm.....I don't like that word!!! :((((( Did they take to much out? What ever it is Colleen, I hope he gets it straightened out for his benefit.

Hi, Susan. He hasn't found a job yet, but he is still looking. His experience is a great thing, although he wants to do something totally different than what he was trained at. He's having an issue right now with his taxes and the money he received from the Navy. It's not easy for the guys coming out of the service. I'm just getting over a stomach bug. I've been sick for a few days. I'm just starting to feel human again.

Hi everyone, just in case anyone is having trouble with this web site freezing up, one of the other mothers looked into it. There is a wheel with a green/red dot next to it at the very bottom corner of the right side. This is the chatting section. Click onto the wheel & a rectangle shape will appear above. Click on the rectangle shape until the green dot turns red. Whalla!!! No more Freezing up!!!
Colleen, how is Aaron? I hope he finds a job soon. It's a little tough these days, but being in the Navy with his experience, should turn out to be very valuable on his behalf.
Our crew is still out. Not sure when they are coming back. I heard they are very busy.

Usually when they get to a port they can call. Sometimes while they are under way they can send a short email. Susan, Aaron hasn't yet found a job. He is living with us for now.

sbrands...sometimes yes, sometimes no. It will never be an exact date, more like a general time line within a week. If your son put you down on the list as his "first" contact, you should be able to receive up-dates to your personal e-mail from the ombudsmen with certain events that might be coming up which is great!! If your son is married "or" has listed a girlfriend, friend or other relative as their first contact, then you have to rely on that person to share information.

Thanks for the welcome. For those of you who have gone through this, do you ever have a sense of how long it will be before you hear from your child? Certainly, though he couldn't say anything specific, it was pretty evident when he was out of reach.

Welcome Tami, I don't have access to my own computer this week so this is a late Welcome. They are underway right now for a little while. Hopefully, your son gave you his e-mail sub address so you can send him some e-mails, although, you might not get a reply back for some time.
