Hi Ladies, my husband & I just got back from making settlement in Atlanta GA. He will be back & forth from NJ to there until we actually make the "Big" move the last week of September. Just waiting for our new grandson to be born. The baby is "frank breech" (which means his legs are straight up instead of bent),so on Monday they will schedule a c-section close to her due date. I think it's "great" that some of you rec'd a phone call from your sons chief. I was so happy for all of you. We asked Christopher if we missed a phone call from his chief while we were gone, and he told us not to worry, that we wouldn't be getting one. But that he is very pleased & looking forward to working under the new command. I know it will make for a "great morale" of the boat. :) Betsy, I'm not sure if you need to use the FPO address since he is probably living on the sub. I will try and find out from Chris's GF today, she knows anything & everything about the sub. Colleen, you sound "great"!!!! Good luck with your "bucket" list and keep those High Spirits up that you have!!!! Cath & Betsy, at least you can lean on some of us that were in the dark when they first got deployed. Don't ever hesitate to ask. Mom's are a little left out of the loop, but as we all found out how much the Ombudsman's (other wives of our sailors) were there to answer all of our questions and help us through the deployment of our sons. They were absolutely wonderful and full of the knowledge we all needed to hear. It was great to hear from all of you. Love To You All.
Anyone know the best way to send packages to the base? My son said mail has to be sent to the boat and there is a long delay.
Note on the change of command on the San Francisco.
