Hi, Betsy and welcome.  My son is Aaron and has been with the crew for over a year now.  I hope your son enjoys his time in SD!

Hello,

I'm a new member.  My son is graduating from A school in Groton today and will be heading to San Diego toward the end of the month.

It's good that the worrying is getting less.  That means you're growing.  It's a hot one here today.  I am planning a beach run soon.  My hubby doesn't like the beach, so I'll have to go by myself.

I do agree with you Colleen 100%. I do worry w-a-y to much. It runs on my side of the family!! Hah!! Unfortunately, Chris has inherited some of that. My other 2 children, not so much. They inherited alot of my husbands side.  :)    But on the other hand, I am not as worried about Christopher like I use to be. For one thing, I know his GF is out there because she does love him very much and I know she will & has taken good care of him. Our communication with her is getting better as she is communicating with us at a much better level!!! So that really helps us out alot with less worries. And I am a firm believer that everything falls in the Grace of God's hands, so that helps "me" out tremendously!! I hope your allergies clear up soon. I know my sister had a terrible time for many months, but is finally getting better. I think her stress level has eased up alot. The Dr's kept telling her that a lot of stress brings on the asthma & allergy attacks. Love To You All ..

I was just getting over a cold when we went to RI last week.  It was a great 2 days, but exhausting.  My allergies acted up so I spent some miserable time coughing.  We found out we have a balance to pay (9,000 out of 33,000).  We're making arrangements to start a payment plan. It was interesting to see the video about our sub.  We spent the afternoon of the 4th with friends.  Susan, I think you do worry a lot! Relax knowing he's in God's hands. :).

I hope everyone had a very nice 4th of July. Our's was actually very quiet this year. We were pretty exhausted from all the travel we had done the week before that we just relaxed this past weekend. Christopher finally had an enjoyable weekend. After long days of hard work, he finally had a well "deserved"weekend off, as I hope all of your sons did too.Sally, I "Loved" your comment about not knowing there were torpedos.....When Christopher first stepped aboard in 01,2009,the first question my husband asked him was where on the boat did he sleep, his answer was....."The torpedo room!" That made me feel "JUST GREAT" I think I turned very green, and didn't get much sleep that night. I couldn't even imagine or picture my son in  it!!! It took a lot of reassuring from my husband to convince me "not to worry"!! Colleen, how was your trip to Rhode Island with Jessica? Deb, thanks for the encouraging words of the younger generation. We live in N.J. so, we are use to the cost of high living, so for us to be in shock of the rental fee.....  you know it had to be pretty bad in itself! I hope this finds everyone in the best of health & know that I think about all of you, your families and your sons as you are all often in my prayers. Love To You All, Susan     :)

Did you guys see this?  Very interesting.  I was privileged to be  able to tour the SS San Francisco but I didn't get to do all this!

You are right, Colleen.  San Diego is a very expensive place to live. J and B got a two bedroom AND had a roommate so they could get a nice place. I have started walking around the corn patch (since I am on vacation and not standing all day teaching), and trying to write the Philippians paper (or book) that I have been threatening to write for ten years.  My daughter's husband (the Marine) has schooling for 8 weeks at Camp Pendleton, so my daughter and grandson are coming for the 4th.  It is the first time in many years that I have one of my children for the 4th (unless I go down to 29Palms which I have a few times). So I am excited although they just left from when they came up for family reunion. It is good to have your children around.  My sister and dad and I went to the bank and the stone masons yesterday and threw in a lunch at a favorite restaurant.  It was not fun but very pleasant and we got a lot of errands done. I hope you are enjoying your vacation, Colleen.  And Susan, I have found those children change apartments so easily.  I would not like to move as much as they do but they are young.  So if Chris gets tired of the planes, he will look for a better place. Take care driving to RI. Talk to you all later.
