It just turned hot out here in California.  I can remember 11 straight days of over 100 degree heat in May but today was our first 100 degree day this year.  I have finished school, had J and wife at my house for a week, took a mandatory class for a week, and then this weekend we had our big family reunion.  It was so much fun! My daughter and grandson are still here but they are leaving tomorrow.  J and B are traveling with all their possessions across the United States to his new duty station.  They are in Arkansas right now. I miss them so much but I have my plane ticket to visit them in mid-July. I hope Matt does well on his test.  And enjoy the orientation.  Remember ask lots of questions :)!

Hi everyone.  I hope you all are enjoying the weather.  Soon I'll be finished with school (Thursday) and have the rest of the summer off, until September 7.  I just got some news today.  My oldest son Matt is joining the army!  They have some jobs available for him.  He is taking a test tomorrow.  I'm excited for him.  Right now he is stuck in two dead end jobs trying to pay huge college loans off. The army will pay a good chunk of his college loans.  I hope he won't have to go to war.  Next week we go to Jessica's orientation at her college.

Well, our Christopher is heading back to San Diego. He's in Charleston SC right now picking up his GF. They will leave there on Friday via her car and head to Destin FLA, to visit with my M-in-L & youngest son Jonathan stationed in that area. On Sunday they will make the BIG 3 day trip to San Diego. Hopefully the wild fires in Arizona will be more under control, or they will have to figure out an alternate route when they reach the Texas area.We had such a great "short but very sweet" visit with Chris. We already miss him very much!! We wish we could have had more time with him, but we cherished what we had. Hopefully we will see him sometime in Nov. Love to all of You  :)

When my son got married at the sub base at Point Loma last July, my family stayed at the Best Western.  It was nice.  It had an exercise room (which my daughter wanted), and it has a full breakfast (included) which I liked.  It is a short drive from Point Loma probably 7 miles.  Check out Orbitz or Expedia for good offers and all the selling points of the hotels.

We had such a GREAT day yesterday with Chris and our family. When we arrived @ the airport to pick Chris up, there was another family waiting for their son too, that was aboard the USS San Francisco. He's from Phila. ! What were the odds of that!! My husband & I new they were wating for someone who is in the Navy, b/c they all had signs and t-shirts on, but we didn't realize he was on the same sub until we saw Chris. My parents did really well at the barbeque, and like you too Deb, we were holding our breath for no rain. As it turned out, only rain in the morning  so we were very Lucky!! Chris is still asleep, finally catching up on all of his sleep!!! We are all going to my grandson's little league game tonight. When I get some pictures, I'll post them. I can't wait to see all the pictures from all of you!!

So glad you had a good time.  We had a great time.  I posted a couple of photos - not sure when they will be approved.  We spent the whole day until I had to take my dad home.  Then J and B came back to my house later that evening.  We spend this morning and lunch together.  Then they went to J's MIL's house for the afternoon.  They are taking an elderly uncle and aunt to the doctor's in a nearby town tomorrow.  We are hoping to have a marathon of the old Pirates of the Caribbean movies so we can then go and see the new one (and not be lost). Susan, I hope your son got there okay, and that you are having a great time as well!

Our party was so much fun.  It is a joy having Aaron home.  I'll post a family picture of us soon.  I hope your party was fun, Deb.  You're right, Susan.  If we blink, their time with us will be gone!  Aaron returns to work Tuesday.

We had a great day yesterday - shopping for party stuff, and just hanging out.  Bailee made a great video to show at the party with all the deployment photos.  She chose music and everything!  They have left to set-up while I need do some errands, and then pick-up my dad for the party.  I will let you all know how it turned out.  The only rain-on-the-parade is that the party was supposed to be outside and it is raining . . . .

Y

Yay!  JJ and Bailee arrived!  But . . . they had made plans with his cousins (my nieces) to have dinner and go bowling.  So I came home from work, and visited with them for about two hours, and now I am grandpuppy sitting.  I am taking care of their chihuahua while they are gone.  She misses them and keeps crying.  Anyway, I did get the day off tomorrow and we are going to spend the day together, hurrah! And then J's party is the next day.  I was a little disappointed but happy nonetheless :).

I am so glad, Colleen, that Aaron's plane landed before the storm and that you are all okay!  The cropped photo looks great!

And Susan, Saturday night will be here soon!
