So, Christopher Skyped me today. He was really tired. He did tell me that they have had to do extra coverage for the guys who's wives came. He is really disappointed. I guess he thought pulling into different ports would be a great experience, but as it aways turns out between duty, shift, maintence and trying to get all the laundry done, there's just no time to experience it. He especially was looking forward to this one, but because he has to cover for others, he's not going to get a chance to enjoy it. Of course, as his mother, my heart is aching  that he is feeling this way.  :(

Deborah, that sounds great about J and his wife. I bet they are really enjoying being with each other, and having the experience of seeing another way of life. I know this is a port that the wives were meeting up with them. So if you didn't have a wife their, then I am guessing the others had to cover that duty and shift. I am not to sure if Chris's GF went. I'll know when he gets a chance to call. It sounded like some of the wives and GF's were going to surprise them. I am hoping that we hear and see from Christopher tonight or tomorrow through Skype.

Yes, Colleen.  When J wrote, he said he had a few days off.  Everyone can't have the same days off.  J said they went to the zoo and it wasn't like American zoos at all.  They could almost touch the animals!  They are enjoying their short time together.  I hope you hear from Aaron soon.  And I hope the other moms hear from their sons as well.

Hi Ladies, Christopher called very briefly. He had duty today and he was hoping to get a little free time after that. We didn't get to much time to talk. He said he will try tomorrow or the next day. He said everything is good. Colleen.. please don't worry, when they pull in, sometimes they have to stay on the boat, depending on their shift. I am sure Aaron is doing good as well.

I still haven't heard from Aaron.  I hope he is okay.

I got a message from J!  He said he arrived safely and so did his wife.  He has a few days off and he is fine!  It was so comforting just to read that.  It is late and I have to get to bed so that is all for tonight.  I hope you all are well.

Ahhh....yes Colleen...this is a quite place to relax. I have my computer up in the bedroom right next to a window. When it's a beautiful day out, I just open my window to hear, see & smell the fresh air and love to read and listen to what everyone has to write about. I feel every emotion from all of you. Debra, I know how frightening it was for all of you when she fell. Home Health Aid inside the home has its great advantages, but can also be very stressful on the families too. Especially getting the right ones in your home that really care. I know this is "Nurse Sally's" occupation so I am sure she feels for what you are all going through. I am pretty confident we should be hearing from the boys very soon. We all need to hear their voices.

Thanks, Debra.  I'm glad your mom is doing better.  I haven't heard from Aaron yet.  I wonder if he got the news about his auntie.  I wish I could find out how he is doing.  I'm going to have to call my family or I probably won't hear anything.  I appreciate this group so much.  It's like a quiet place to relax being here.

My Mom is home from the hospital!  She came home on Wednesday.  My sister has been staying at my parents' house 24/7 taking care of my mom.  I come over after work.  Today, my sis came from the bathroom to quietly ask for my help.  When I got there, my mom was on the floor!  We all three had to work very hard to get her up again.  Praise God!  The Home Health Nurse assessed Mom today.  The physical therapist hasn't called yet.  Yes, my DIL leaves tomorrow for the port, that I think I know what it is.  I am a little disappointed.  I thought I would send something small with her but with all the hoopla with my mom I didn't communicate that with her.  Now she has already traveled to the town with the airport she is flying from so I missed my chance :(.  I haven't heard from my son and with all the excitement of his wife coming to see him, I don't expect I will.  I will just have to live vicariously through you guys :).  Have I told you guys lately how much I appreciate you all?  Colleen, I am still praying for your family.  I hope that your family in CA will communicate with you soon. <3 <3 <3
