Oh Colleen, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin.  Is this the cousin you were going to visit when you came to California?  And Sally, what a big surprise that Craig is in SD.  I was so surprised when I read it!  JJ has a tattoo as well but it is well hidden.  He is talking of adding to it - I just shake my head.  My SIL is a Marine and has many tattoos and my daughter has followed suit.  I talked with my children when they were small about this but . . . .  In the big scheme of things I guess it is not a big deal.

Sally, Aaron already has tattoos, but he is so dark skinned you can hardly see them!  I have some sad news, my friends.  My dear cousin in CA passed away today.  I grew up with her, we always had a special bond.  My sister-in-law is still hanging on, but critical.  Malcolm is flying out to be with his family in Trinidad.

I am sorry, Colleen, about your sister-in-law.  I will pray for her and your families. My mom's surgery is going to be on the 14th. The surgeon only does surgery in this town on Mondays.  I am not into football but I am going to my shepherding group's Super Bowl party.  My daughter IS into football and she is a die-hard Packer fan too, Susan!  I used to watch football with my husband so I am rooting for the Steelers.  I remember when they almost won 4 Super Bowls in a row.  Of course, that was a long time ago :).

Thanks Susan.  My husband talked to his brother in Tobago and he said Judith is stable, but still very sick.  They can't figure out why she is bleeding internally.  We can only pray and wait.

Awwww Colleen, I am so sorry to hear all of this. It sounds like you and your family have a lot of great memories with her.I know I speak for all of us in our group, that we can really feel for your sadness that you & your family are going to miss her deeply. Please let your husband know we are praying for her.

None of us are into sports at all, so Superbowl is a nonevent for us!  I got some very sad news:  My husband's only sister is dying.  She lives in Tobago (Trinidad and Tobago).  She is not even sixty yet.  Anyway, she was on dialysis, but now she has internal bleeding and is in a lot of pain.  The family took her off of the dialysis b/c there is nothing more they can do for her.  She's going to her house in Tobago to spend her days.  Aaron knew she was dying, so he said to send news through the Red Cross.  He, Matt and Jessica grew up from birth around her when she lived here in the US.  She's been in our lives since we got married and always supported us in anything we needed.  She was generous with her time and all other resources.  She made us laugh constantly.  She was  a joy to be around.  We lived in a two family home with her for twelve years after we all moved to Brockton from Cambridge in 1983.  It's hard to believe she's dying. I still can't wrap my head around it.  It's comforting to know she'll be in heaven with no more pain.  :((  Thanks in advance for your hugs!  :)

Good Morming Ladies, we just rec'd a very short e-mail from Christopher. Last one for a while, only 2 sentences, but we'll take any little communication. He said everything is "Good". We Love to hear that word coming from him, b/c that word was not in his vocabulary at all last year, and he's just about done with all of his qual's.I bet that is relieving a lot of stress off of him.I also rec'd a newsletter from the Ombudsman today, just about events and activities for the wives and famlies in the San Diego area going on this next month. Even though it doesn't really pertain to us, it was very nice receiving info on what they do to help the families of our son's.Sooo...my husband and I have a lot to do today. We are having neighbors and friends over for the Super Bowl tomorrow. My husband is a Die-Hard Packers fan!!! Do you believe all the snow Dallas got, and the problems they are having with Stadium b/c of it? Who would have though Dallas would have a "Snow" Super Bowl!!!

Hi Colleen, Yes a couple of weeks ago,Chris's GF mentioned the wives were planning on meeting up in the furture. Most of the e-mails of information that are sent out from the phone tree, are directed more towards the wives.I don't think there are to many Mom's with single son's on the list. But that's Ok, at least we are getting some communication between us all. Deborah, that's a good sign that your Mom's heart is strong. Wow Sally, I saw on the news this a.m. the South is feeling the COLD...BURRR!!! Dallas expecting 4 inches of snow!! Watch out Colleen, another system heading our way from the South this weekend. What happened to that GroundHog?? I thought he "Didn't" see his shadow, Our Spring should be coming soon!!!!

Amen to that, Deborah.  I found out this trip to the port was something preplanned by the wives, They'll be flying to the next port to meet their husbands.

My DIL is going to visit my son at a port but I think it is in the future.  I didn't get the email but she did.  Actually, I think they mentioned it before he left.  My mom got the okay from the cardiologist so now she is just waiting for the surgery date.  She is feeling fine and has no pain.  I feel a little bit like a hamster in a wheel but I know my Lord will lead me through :).
