I think it does come from facebook but it doesn't post to my facebook. I am not sure how it works. It gave me an option to post to yahoo or something else that I don't remember and I picked yahoo.
That is awesome. I do remember seeing something like that but I thought it was FaceBook and I'm not on FaceBook. Maybe I'll check it out tomorrow.
I signed up for a subscription to the Commander's notes and it posts to my yahoo page. Unfortunately, I don't visit that page very often. I just go directly to my email so I just saw it today. It is the site that had the official send off news with the pictures. I took off the sailor's last names because I thought that was what I was supposed to do, although this was posted on the internet with last names.
Deborah, that is really exciting news for all to see!!! Where did you find that? Was it sent to you?

Congratulations Sailors and your moms!
Happy Anniversary, Colleen! I have never been to Cheesecake Factory but one of my co-workers goes often, and loves it! I know that song. It is a great song. Even though I don't listen to Country music as a rule all of my family and many of my friends do, so I am exposed to it. I agree about the busyness of Christmas. I have tried to have stress-free Christmases for years. And I have been successful most of the time. The highlight of our family Christmas is the Christmas Eve candlelight service where we can reflect upon the reason for the season, hear the nativity and gospel story again (I never tire of hearing them), sing Christmas hymns, and then the powerful visual experience of standing in a circle in a dark room with only candles lit in each person's hand, as we sing, "Silent Night." It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. Then we drive to my parents (usually in the fog) to have soup, and open presents.
Susan, that is good to know about the emails. I sometimes just put Hi in my subject. I know he will get them someday and he will appreciate them when he does. Cheryl, it's great to hear from you. My son Aaron works in the lab. I believe, like everyone, that our sons are special men to volunteer for the service, especially in this day and age. I hope everyone is having a stress-free Christmas season. It is meant to be enjoyed because it is all about love: God's love for us and love for one another. This love attitude spills over into the following year! Speaking of love, today is my 28th anniversary. The song that come to my mind is the perfect song for our marriage: Shania Twain's "Still the One". "They said, I bet, they'll never make it, but just look at us holding on; we're still together, still going strong! You're still the one I run to, the one that I belong to, you're still the one I want for life..." I love it. We're going to the Cheesecake Factory for supper tonight. They have great food and luscious cheesecake, of course. Everyone be blessed.
Sally, it's great to hear from you.I am glad we are all here for each other. Deborah, about the e-mails, your right about the pipeline. They do stress not to jamm it up with several e-mails. But I think that is directed more towards the wives and girlfriends. They tend to send e-mails on a daily basis, where as us parents woudn't do that. I have found that sending Chris an e-mail about every 10 days or so, seems to work. I usually get a confirmation with-in a week that it was sent to the boat. I also found out that if I put an inspirational message as the subject, it seems to always get through in a timely fashion. There were a couple of times I had different subjects written for instance, Sport related subjects or something other than inspirational, it never got pushed through.
Thanks Susan for that info about email. I had just been wondering if I should keep sending emails. I wanted to but I didn't want to "jam up" the pipe or write a lot of emails that are never read. It was great, Cheryl, to get to know a little about you. I can go on and on too, so you are in good company. I became an empty nester in 2004 when J went to recruitment training. The first year was hard but not too bad. He was in nuke school and was able to come home on holidays. The next year was bad. I think I finally realized he was not ever going to be home again (except to visit). I have adjusting ever since. It is comforting to see my daughter's family on holidays but they still live 5 hours away so I don't see them often enough. I have been divorced for 19 years (it is hard to say that - how could it have been so long) and my ex-husband died when J was in recruitment training. I am very proud of the man my son has become especially since his dad was not around most of his life. I love my iPhone as well. I love being connected to my family and friends. Even my mom and her sister are on facebook! Again, welcome!
Welcome Cheryl. It was very nice to hear from you. As far as bragging, I think everyone of us are all in that same position. It takes a special quality of up-bringing from families, for our sons to volunteer for the Navy and choose submarine's. We are all so extremely proud of our sons. My understanding with e-mail, (coming from military personnal that have already served) is from time to time, they will receive some e-mail we send their way,But they will not be able to release any signal coming from the sub if they are out on a certain mission. So it is good for their moral if we keep sending them e-mail for them to read.
