Susan, that's good that they carry walkie talkies. Sally, I think I will take your advice.

Sally, that is great advice! I have never rec'd a flu shot. We were suppose to administer them at the pharmacy where I work, and I promised myself I would get one, but we never went through with it. Colleen, I know exactly what you mean by having the kids make their decisions with certain matters so it doesn't come back at you and bite you. I can just feel your reliefespecialy if you were coming down with a cold. AND about that show you watched on Criminal Minds, you couldn't be far from the truth. My husband and his 2 friends have come across some pretty "CRAZY SCAREY" hunters that live deep in the woods, during the past years. They do carry walkies talkies with them.

Susan, we didn't end up going to NY. Jessica decided the traffic would be horrible because of the holiday. I was hoping she'd come to her senses; I wanted her to make the call so she couldn't blame me for the disappointment! :). My husband and I would have done all the driving. I couldn't hide my relief! We will go to an open house in January.

Hi everyone. Aaron hasn't called yet, but I did get that email from him. Deb, you're a teacher? I am licensed to teach Middle School English, but I'm still working as a paraprofessional working with special needs kids. Right now I'm learning how to teach in my Master's program. Welcome, Shirley. My son's name is Aaron. He works in the lab. I told him about this group, so I guess it must be the talk of the ship. Wow, Susan. Hunting? I saw an episode of Criminal Minds where two brothers were hunting people with bows and arrows! By the way, Some Like It Hot is hilarious after all these years. It came out the year I was born! You don't see comedy like that today. I hope everyone is having a great day. I have a slight cold. I wonder if I should get a flu shot. This is my second cold of the season and I usually only get one every year. Anyone else get flu shots?

Deborah, I know how you feel, please don't be disappointed. He probably wasn't able to get off the sub as early as Chris, due to his schedule. I don't know when Chris will be able to Skype either, or if at all. I guess it all depends upon their schedules.Sally thanks for the Congratulations on Chris's dolphins. It is extremely difficult and hard to get them with all the demands of maintenance, duty, and schedules. Chris thought he would have them before he left, but he finally finished this past week.I will tell you, after they receive them, it is quite an honor and a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders. Everyone have a great day!

I am so disappointed! I read Susan's message at 9 pm PST and I had my skype on and kind of waiting for an hour or so but I needed to go to bed since I have to work today and . . . I woke up to my phone buzzing (on silent so I can sleep through alerts) and my brain told me it was an alarm!!! It really was J calling and I slept through it! :( It was at almost 1 am and I must have been dead asleep. He did leave a message and told me he would call another time so next time, I will wake up enough to answer! I have a busy two days. I teach at BSF tonight after teaching school all day. I don't get home from that until 10pm. And then on Tuesday, I have an audition for Celebrant Singers. I am not sure how J will feel about N4M but I did tell him all about it in my last email.

My son Steven is a radioman aboard the ship... he is in his last six months in the Navy and will be getting out by the time they are done with this deployment, his first and only "real" trip out for this long... His wife is home here in Jersey, so she gets the bulk of the emails I get the "leftovers" just like in thanksgiving... Skype is up and ready for when he finally gets into a port... i just really look forward to having him finally get home as he will be missing christmas, his birthday and wedding anniversary while they are out to sea... will talk more another time... thanks for the warm welcome

Deborah, it's always unfortunatly back to reality when your family leaves. Jonathan will be home until Wed.,but my husband and his 2 best friends always take the first Sunday -Wed after Thanksgiving and go hunting way up in the mountains of PA. Hunting season opens up. Definitly, not my cup of tea at all, but they always have some hysterical stories to tell when they come home.Had a very short paragraph from Christopher. He said everything is going well.He did tell me he put his phone on deployment mode b/c he doesn't have International Calling from his phone, so he will use an International Calling Card. It all makes sence now. Hope to hear from everyone else soon.
