Welcome to the group, Shirley. Tell us a little about yourself. My son's name is JJ. He is a newlywed. Thanksgiving was great, and the weekend was nice. But now, my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson have headed back on their 5 hour trip home, and I am having a hard time transitioning. I need to do some work to get ready for going back to work tomorrow but I am having a hard time getting started. We celebrated my son-in-law's 30th birthday on Friday at his parents' in a nearby town. And then my daughter and family spent Saturday with me. They went to church with me this morning and now they are on the road home. We went to the restaurant for lunch that all of us (my daughter, son, and my now son-in-law although then he was my daughter's boyfriend) used to go to eat after church every Sunday. Colleen, did you get enough rest this weekend? I was thinking of your demanding job and then school on top of that. Susan, how was work on Friday? Jump right in, Shirley!

Good Evening Girls, So, we have all been winding down from the weekend. We celebrated our son's (Jonathan) 21st birthday yesterday, and then he and his friends (that re already 21) went to Atlantic CIty later last night. Colleen, did you go to NY to the Culinery Institute with your daughter, and did she like it? I did not do any shopping this weekend. Most of my neighbors have Christmas decorations up, but we never decorate until the first weekend of Dec. I really like to just enjoy the whole Thanksgiving Weekend Theme. It looks like there is a new Mom joining us, has anyone heard from her yet?

Thanks Deborah for clarifying that. My son does have his laptop, and we both have Skype. I am a little more relieved now.

I believe that is what it means. It just means suspended service. It won't be active but he still has an account and can resume service later (after deployment ends). Perhaps if he did request deployment mode, he has a different way to contact you. My son took his laptop and plans to SKYPE when he is in port.

Oh Colleen, that is so great that you can look at Aaron's dolphin pins every day. It is quite an achievement to earn them. I am so proud of Christopher. Deborah, does this mean Chris will loose his cell phone service, so when he pulls into a port, he will not be able to use his cell phone to contact us?

Great job to Chris! Aaron sent us his dolphins pin, so I put it near my computer. I can see it every day. I know Aaron doesn't have At&t anymore. He probably took care of his because he didn't mention it in his instructions for me.

Congratulations to Chris! There is a restaurant in PA called Mrs. Gibbles that specializes in home cooking but I don't know if that is what they had.
This is what AT&T says about military deployment mode:
If you are being transferred or deployed and want to suspend your service, AT&T waives the recurring monthly fees. If your account is suspended on the Military Suspension Plan, you will retain your original wireless number. All billable features are removed at the time of suspension. If you are changing from a Rollover Plan to a Military Plan, you will lose all accumulated rollover minutes.
You must contact us within 18 months following the suspension of your service to either extend the suspension, or resume service.
Hope this helps!

YAHOO!!!! I heard from Chris also today!!! He finally did all of his qualifications for his Dolphins and rec'd the pin from his Captain. He is so relieved and excited that he has them now!! Colleen, I work with a girl who's husband is in the Air Force, plus she is retired from the AirForce. I am so glad I never gave Chris's SS# to his girfriend, b/c had I did, she would have been able to access quite a few things with it.I did send her an e-mail back telling her we could not give out his # without his permission, and asked her if she would like to send us the info for his cell phone, and my husband would be more than happy to put it on deployment mode. She sent me an e-mail back, and told us to never mind, that she had already done it with the information that he gave to her. Of course now I am wondering if she really needed it for that purpose. Does anyone know what Deployment Mode Is for a cell phone? No I'm not to sure what Gibbles is.

Hi everyone. I got an email from Aaron today. They had Gibbles for Thanksgiving. I don't know what Gibbles is, a restaurant maybe? Anyway he says things are pretty quiet now, a little boring. I'm sure they will get excitement soon.

Well, The Feast of Thank's is over. Or should I say, just the beginning, with all the left overs. Mmmmmmm. It will be so great. My Dad and Mom finally made it out of their house to ours. They haven't gone anywhere since my Dad got so sick in August, except an occasional trip to the Dr's. My Dad did remarkably Super!!! Colleen, you are soooo right about the deep Fryer being dangerous. But Michael handles all of it on our front driveway, away from the house, trees and cars. Our friends and neighbors bring their turkeys, chickens, and sometimes, just a turkey breast. They inject with all the Cajun Juices and the turkey comes out very juicy and full of flavor. I hope our sailors had a nice feast today. We toasted Christopher today after our prayer with tears in our eyes. We really miss not hearing hearing his voice. When he does pull into a port, we both have a web Cam and use Skype on our computers, so we will hopefully find a connection to see each other through the cam. Everyone have a nice day off tomorrow. I will be working, but thats OK, I work every Friday after Thanksgiving so I can request Chirstmas Eve off.
