Yay! I knew you would get an email soon, but I am surprised you received just now! I hope the group grows too. Thanks for starting it. My son's name is JJ.

I just read an email from Aaron! I told him I started this group. I hope it grows over the next six months and beyond.

Sorry, Susan. I didn't mean for my comment to alarm you. I was just glad to hear the information. My son's dad died when my son was in recruitment training, and I don't think I handled telling him (correctly or well). So I was glad to get some direction for such matters IF a situation occurs that I need to use it.

Susan, I don't know how the tree works. I have gotten mail from Aaron in my regular email address.

No, Susan, there is no upsetting news. I was told that if we have upsetting news we should call the ombudsman first and not send it through to our sons. The commander of the ship would decide when to tell the sailor. I haven't heard from Aaron yet, but I'm sure I will soon.

BTW, I did receive a reply email from my son so I am sure you will receive one, soon, as well.

Thank you,Colleen, for passing on the information about upsetting news. I didn't know that. I will have to let my son's wife know so she can call since I don't have that number, but good info nonetheless!

Hi Colleen, That's great! When you get e-mails, will it go directly to your personal one or through this N4M site? And the phone tree, when or if you receive a call for any reason, do you just get a call from someone, and/or are you responsible for calling someone else?
