Proudofbeau......the ombudsman are exceptionally very warm & friendly, group of wives & are cery well aware that 'Us' Moms are out of the Loop!!! They will be more than happy to answer any questions & concerns you have. Don't ever hesitate to contact them if you need an answer. There were a couple of times I had to contact them via phone/e-mail and they got back to me right away. Unless its an emergency, I think e-mail is the appropriate way to contact them.

Don't worry -- I've found the Ombudsmen to be very helpful. :)

Wow, Proudofbeau, I can relate. My son has been in San Diego for almost an entire year, and he STILL doesn't have an address! It drives me crazy. He says the same thing about not wanting to pay for a post office box, and just shrugs when I say, "Well, how am I supposed to send you anything? How are you supposed to receive bills or other important mail?" I'm glad to find out that it's not just me - someone else has experienced this as well. As usual, I think JerseySusan has the right advice. Let me know what the Ombudsman says.  Good luck!

I have only mailed packages to my husband while they were on deployment. I have never done it while they are in homeport or while they will be gone on a underway.

I'm not sure about that one Proudofbeau...My son has always had an address. I think you should e-mail the ombudsman, & they'll know how to direct you.
