For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Nise615...It is very important for your son to place a close relative on the Ombudsman list. Preferably it is usually the mother if they are single. If they are married, then it will be the wife. The ombudsman are the liaisons (wives appointed) between the Navy families and Navy Commands and can assist you & help direct you with problems that may develop during a deployment or underway. They will provide you with an e-mail and phone number for the ombudsman once your son places you on the list, BUT, your son "Has" to provide them with that information. It is good to communicate & remind your son "who" or "If" he has placed anyone on that list. There is a phone tree the ombudsman use to contact the listed person he has placed in the event something changes with their deployments. The listed person will also receive monthly e-mails from the Ombudsman.

Yes, there are two Facebook pages, an open one and a closed one, which you can join, for family members. Just do a search when you go on Facebook -- they're easy to find. Are you on the Ombudsman list yet? They're also a great resource for family members.

Rachel, I was hoping he was the second one from the right, not left, holding the POW Flag. It was just by chance this still photo showed up when I was researching the link to send you for the UTube video. Just go on UTube and put in " San Diego Chargers Opening Ceremony Military Salute 2013. A few different very short videos will come up for you to choose from. I tried to reach out to my DIL to look, but that didn't work out. I'm so Happy to have helped you, I know how important it is to see them in a ceremony. I clicked on a link that went to a Navy Newspaper called 'Americas Navy". In the search block of the top right, put in this story #. NNS130903-13 and the article with the picture on the right will come up.
