Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Hopefully, we will hear soon from our sailors on where they are and how they are doing. My holiday package is sent. Thank you for your help :)

Actually she is having 2 weddings. Her fiance was born in India and his parents wanted to have a wedding there for their family. Unfortunately, there are only 3 of us that are going to India for the wedding. My ex, Bill and I. (Since my ex doesn't acknowledge Bill's existence, that will be a bit awkward). So we are having a second wedding in Boston in May. That will be for everyone here in the US.

What a kick. I am sure Aaron is not in the picture but it does make one feel closer. I know Aaron is thrilled to be back in Japan. It was his first choice for to be posted to. I am happy with Everett. At least I may get out to see him. Though I think Bill was disappointed as well. He would have loved going to Japan to see Aaron. He loves to travel. Lucky for me, he doesn't like to travel alone. My daughter is getting married in Jan. in India. Aaron knew he would not be able to go. The weird part is that he will be closer to India in Jan. than he would be if he were home. Aaron did not think they would give him leave however, to go. I will definitely see you on Facebook.

Well, I say a posting in Facebook so it sounds like they have left Japan. Were to next? I guess I will have to wait and see. It sounded like he loved Japan. His words "Best place ever".

I have not had any communication since the first one. Nothing on Facebook either. I found an International phone card at Krogers (a grocery store in MI) but I wanted to check out where it could be used and they didn't it listed on card. I will investigate and let you know what I find out. My son lost his debit card before he left and couldn't get it replaced in time. The bank is suppose to be sending it on, but I am wondering how he is getting money if he can't use his debit card. Does a mom ever stop worrying.

I live in Michigan.. My oldest is my daughter Danielle. She went to college and then moved to Boston. Though I always missed her, the time between visits became longer and longer and I got used to her being gone. Then of course, I had Aaron at home so it didn't feel as sudden as Aaron's leaving. He left for Bootcamp on March 3rd. I was lucky because Bootcamp and A training was at Great Lakes, about a 61/2 hr drive so I was able to see him a couple of times. I really struggle sometimes. I have always been rather close to my daughter but my relationship with Aaron is different. Their father and I divorced about 7 years ago. What a time that was.

Aaron was adjusting to high school, I was going through a divorce and menopause. Wow! Aaron and I got through it all together. I often wonder how I would have managed if her weren't there.

Luckily, I have met a wonderful man who is so good to me. I know that having Bill in my life made it easier for Aaron to leave. I am so proud of him and happy that he is making a life for himself, but it doesn't help missing him. Somehow, the 2 people that I wrapped my life around ended up so far away.

I understand what you mean about Christmas. My daughter is engaged and her fiances parents are in Dubai. When she announced that she was going to Dubai for Christmas, I decided that Christmas was going to not happen this year. Like you, I had decided that there would be no decorations or celebration. I know she felt bad, especially with Aaron away this year, so she is coming the week before and flying out on Christmas day to meet up with Linoy. I didn't try to talk her out of it. :)

I have some ideas for Aaron for Christmas and am gathering them together. He said he needed a new portable hard drive so I am sending one of those with a wallet, gift card for music, and a International phone card. He is not into sweets much, but he like Mars bars. We can't get them in the US anymore so we will probably make a trip to Canada to pick some. I love the ideas for silly thing. I have a couple of ideas about that as well. He may even get a itty bitty Christmas tree. I am not sure he will appreciate it

I am going to Boston for Thanksgiving this year and am looking forward to it. Linoy has had only one real Thanksgiving since coming to the US which is about 10 years. The kids are going to invite some of the other displaced friends so we should have a table full. I just wish I could talk to Aaron. I imagine that they will do something for them for Thanksgiving.

Do you know how long they will be in port? I have only gotten the one message from him. Nothing on Facebook either. I am end up relying on you for info because it doesn't look like communication is going to be easy with Aaron.

Take care and thanks for all of the support. It really is amazing how much easier it is when you can talk to someone who knows how you feel. Bill tries but I know he doesn't really understand.

It will be hard this holiday without Aaron. He is the last one to leave, my daughter lives in Boston. Luckily, she will be home for Christmas. Though it will still be lonely without him. I hope to get out to Everett sometime next summer to see Aaron and the base. His sister is getting married in Boston in May so we are keeping our fingers crossed that they will be back in time for him to attend. I have always been the one to keep everyone organized, doing what they are suppose to do when they are suppose to do it. It is really tough letting the Navy take over especially when they don't keep me in the loop. However, I will get used to it and I know this is going to be a terrific and rewarding experience for Aaron.

How long has Kristie been in the Navy?

Thanks for the updates. I have started compiling gifts to get them out early. I can't tell you how relieved I am. Now we will see how good he is about keeping in touch.

I finally heard from my sailor. Wow. I feel so much better. I am curious how long they will be in port.

That is good news. Hopefully my sailor will join the ship while in port. I will have to keep my fingers crossed.
