No I didn't get information from the Shoup Ombudsman and I would love to have that information. Thank you for your help.

Thanks. I was all over the internet trying to get some kind of idea of where he might be. I am going to post some mail tomorrow so hopefully it will reach him. I will just have to sit tight and wait it out. I am sure he will get in touch when he can.

Wow. Now I am really lost. I know that my son was to join the Shoup via another ship. I suppose it is possible that he hasn't made to the Shoup yet. I have been monitoring his Facebook and there hasn't been any postings. This is probably something I need to get used to but I hate not having a clue of where he is.

Thanks. I will have to get on the ball for Christmas. I have been sending emails, but of course, there has been no response. Thanks again for your help.

My guess is about 2 weeks. It has to go through the US mail, customs, military security then sorted and sent by air to the ship. My package took almost a month. Online says to send your Christmas package by November 20th. I try to send packages often a little love from home. I send regular e-mail too.

Thank you so much. It makes it a bit easier. I guess I will have to communicate the old fashion way-by letter. Do you know how long a letter will take to get to the ship?

The Shoup is out to sea and my son said that they had blocked all communication for a while. When they do lift the block I'm sure you will hear something. They are very busy working with the Abraham Lincoln. You can sometimes get information at www.cusnc.navy.mil or on web at http://www.navy.mil/local/cvn72/. God Bless the Shoup!

My son left for the Shoup a couple of weeks ago. I have not hear anything from him. We thought that the ship had internet. Is that only when it is in port? I am a bit anxious to hear something from him.

Thanks for the info on the Shoup in the Navy Times. I appreciate you sharing that with me.

He is an Electronics Technician specializing in Radar. Is she going to Everette?
