Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Everyone,
The Holidays are always hard whenever they first leave, it does get easier as time goes on. Katie & Matt have both been in the Navy for 5 1/2 years and they've only been home for 1 Christmas. This year we did get to Have Katie home for the first time in 3 years so it was nice, we were sad that Matt couldn't be with us too though.
My son in law is on this ship this is his first deployment on a ship, my daughter just came from the USS Blue Ridge, this is there first holidays apart her ship was always home for the major holidays. She said it was sure different her dropping him off it is usually the other way around, she said I didn't like leaving him she said she cried all the way to work. She said she has gotten emails from Matt. He also said they'd be in a port soon.

Hi Julie, glad to see you here. Some of us talk away from this site but it is also helpful to discuss things here. I know Christmas time was hard for me too. I did get an email of 2 two sentences and haven't heard from my sailor by phone since before deployment. It sounded like they were working alot and only had a 1/2 day off, I guess duty calls. I hope they fed them a special meal at least.

Hi Everyone
it's been awhile
well my son in law is now on board this is his first deployment on a ship he is an IT.
My daughter is working on Coronado. They are buying a house, unfortunately Matt won't get to see it until he gets back in June, Katie will move in the end of Dec. it's great having them stationed in San Diego!!!

Sorry, I haven't been on this site in awhile. It is so comforting when our sailors are in port but I have a problem I need help with. I am supposed to go out to San Diego on Saturday and I can't get ahold of my son. Can anyone update me about what their status is. My email is micheles3pg@gmail.com. My son in law leaves Japan the end of Sept. he has school in San Diego the month of Oct. I'm not sure when he joins the ship. My daughter will return to the States in Oct. sooo excited for them to be in San Diego for 3 years!!!!

Hi Angela, I'm so sorry to hear about your parents. That must have been a very difficult time for you. How has your son been doing in CA? I'm doing OK and had a good visit with Brandon when he came home in May. Since then he is back to his angry self and most of the time refused to communicate with me. Any news from the group would be appreciated.
