Hi.. My son will be joining the ship in July! I am very excited as San Diego is where he basically grew up when his Dad was in the Navy. He is coming from the Fitzgerald in Japan as a STG for the past 3 years. I will just be happy to have him back in the States and bonus is the same time zone FINALLY!! So just wanted to say "Hi" early!.. The other great thing is... He will be home with us early June!!!

I'm glad, I'm not the only one who's son doesn't give the details. I called the base today and was told to go to Pier 7 and arrive between noon and 12:30 for a 1:00pm to 2:00pm arrival. I'll see you there!

Hi Diane, Thank you for the update. I'm so glad to hear they are safe. Where are they?

It was good to hear from my daughter.  This is her 2nd deployment on this ship.  All is well thus far.  I know they are protected as they are protecting this country.

To God be the Glory!!!

Great Pic!! My daughter and Son in law are buying a house, well she got a power of attorney before he left, well it was the wrong one so get this, they flew Legal Aide  from the USS Lincoln over to the USS Sterett so that he could get a power of attorney, I guess there were other Sailors who didn't get this done before they left. So they had them get this done LOL.Katie said they suggest that those Sailors who are married have a Power of Attorney drawn up.

Happy New Years Everyone!!!

The view Diane added doesn't appear such a bad place to be. There is certainly beauty where they are, what a colorful and calming piece of scenery.
