For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son has been the electro on the Mesa Verde, but he will be the navigation officer on the Truxtun.

Hey LindaB, yes, my son signed on n Oct, just as they were leaving Mayport after dry dock. He is ET3, and seems to be enjoying his time there.

Hi Chris,
No, my son is still on the Mesa Verde, but he has only a few days left. Then he'll have some leave and go to a couple of schools - one in Norfolk and one in Newport, RI - before he reports to the Truxtun. I think he doesn't show up until early in May. He's looking forward to it. He went over to visit one day when both ships were in port in Norfolk.
So, your son is on the Truxtun now?

Hi all, my son will be join your sailors next week as ET (at least headed to C school and then to ship, so I do to have actual dates). I know he is looking forward to it, and I'm looking forward to having him near.
