They just announced this morning that next week's Family Day Cruise is canceled due to govt shutdown.

STG Mom, if you would like you could email truxtunfrgpres@gmail.com to be added to an email list to receive updates about the ship. They usually send a recap after meetings or if anything urgent has to be delivered to families.

Outside of that event, a tiger cruise may be planned at the end of deployment, next year. No formal plans have been announced at this time.

Hi STG Mom,

Are you talking about the Family Day Cruise taking place next week? If so, the tentative plans for that are as follows: 18 OCT leaving Naval Station Norfolk at 0600, arrive and board Truxtun in Yorktown and cruise back to Norfolk, arriving approximately at 1330.

If you'd like to receive more updated information on this, and other family activities please 'friend' our FRG and Ombudsman pages on Facebook. I've attached the links below:

Hey schoolnurse, there is both a USS Truxtun FRG and Ombudsman on FB. I think your Sailor has to give the ombudsman your name for contact, but not sure.  Msg the FRG as well, she has a lot of info and is fantastic.
