Tis the New Year's already, and is starting out splendid...Praying it is just as well for all the VG moms, and all those other sailors and families as well...Here's to friendships of past, present, and future! Hip Hip Hooray!

Victoria, am so glad that things are finally coming together for you. If only our foresight could be as good as our hindsight, we'd have alot less worry! But He never promised us that, just that He would never leave us, nor forsake us.
In this time of His Holy Birth, may we sit back, contemplate His arrival and birth, marvel in the things that REALLY matter, and rejoice altogether! My Blessings to one and all, prayers to go out and love to soak up! I pray this to be one BIG happy VG Family! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year All!

Can't believe I have been missing for such long time...And with Christmas and New Year's coming...I know I will stay busy since my two won't be here...
Am so thankful you are all doing better, the days brighter futures lay ahead..Stay positive, stay focused, and I know that good things "come to those who wait", and with children in the military, that is one thing we have learned- waiting! Your all still in prayer.
I have been conversing quite a bit with the ombudsman (thanks to pals here who know how to deliver!) to the group. She is putting together the VG Family email grouping. If anyone needs her email, let me know, she is trying to get together with as many as she can.
Praying for you all to stay safe from this horrendous first-of-the-season storm.....

Ah Julie! Your awesome! That is fantastic! Thank you immensely for taking the time and effort you went through to show me. Now I have a better understanding of what it is like! Was your son in the photo? I figured our sons had to know each other, as close as they all are. In fact, am sure he has seen enough of my other son too!!! He hangs out there enough, or else on my other sons ship. Am sure Matt may think them a bit Midwestern crazy! How nice of your husband to also help enlighten us! Thank him for me too!

Yes, the Blue Light Candle ceremony is on for Wed. for sure! My sincere and deepest gratitude for all the veterans: past, present and future!

Victoria, sounds like alot of good things coming your way! Yahoo! Keep us "in the link" ! Yes, I do think God certainly was looking out for you and for your best interest at heart...

Hippmom, you will have to inform us just what he meant by "glamorous"! That is cute! (Oh, sorry! I think maybe "cute" for guys, and Navy standards is not the appropriate term! Ha) That is just tooooo funny! Perhaps it is because it is such a small close-knit "family"....?!!

Am so saddened and shocked...no words can express the sorrow of my heart for all those in TX... May God Bless each of you dear friends, watch over all our loved ones and us, and really be with all those families down south........ :o{

What an exciting venture! I can't imagine what thrilled my boys into wanting to do this, then thought again....they are true Boys, through and through! I am sure (due to the size of the VG if nothing else!) that our boys would know of each other. Dumb question (since going back into training, I get very little info from my son now) just what is the rib boat like? My other son on his deployment got to help a bit with the piracy overtaking, tho he has yet to really take the training, he's to start soon.

Such exciting news for you Julie! That would be such an awesome birthday present! That doesn't get much better than that! Will pray that holds on through! Both of mine will not make it for Christmas, but do plan to come for New Years. They are traveling together, so working boths leave at the same time was tricky, but looks hopeful! I'm getting goosebumps thinking of it! My VG son is doing VBSS presently, he texted me saying he is soooooo sore! But he loves it, no....make that he LIVES for this kind of stuff! Silly boy! I have known for a very long time that this was what they both wanted to do, so it is exciting to see their dreams progressing as they want. Better yet, that they do let me be a part, not alot, but am there as they see fit to have mom there!

Valerie, don't you worry! You've a good group of caring ladies that will be good and strong prayer warriors for you, God listens, He can provide. Trusting when the trials and tribulations come your way is so difficult, but that is when we also see Him for what He is.

Hippmom, am doing summersaults knowing that we will have you staying with us for sure! A great thrill! My VG boy hasn't been there long, but is so nice seeing what great moms raised those sweet young men he is with...helps to ease a moms heart, knowing all is well with 'her' son! My other son has a great bunch of guys and 'moms' too, so I am doubly blessed in so many ways! Thanks you all! (Yeah, a bit southern touched here! But I guess that would really of been..Ya'all!!!)

Ahhh! Thanks! Hippmom, your a real Blessing too! I agree about the not needing any extra drama part! I have watched some threads almost get a bit ugly. Too bad. I think I have always enjoyed the closeness that comes from smaller groups, whether here or other areas of life! So, even if you have a wonderful time over at the IKE group, we really need your insight and love here too! After all, your PART of us, and it would be like missing a part of ourselves without you!
Enjoy the week ladies, and may the sun keep shining! Blessings to All!!

Ahh, how sweet to return and see us all back together, pulling for each other, and sharing our concerns and love!
Julie, so glad to hear back from ya! I understand how the time gets away from you, I do that quite often myself, go through periods of that at work. Am about to go through another cycle of 80-85 hr work weeks, though am on salary so most of that is "volunteer" unfortunately. Sometimes we need to just grin and do it, it can be a ministry of sorts. Don't want to be bored or do something fun...NOT!!!
I pray for safe traveling mercies for you Victoria, and that the now "made for you" apartment will also jump out at you! I am so happy for you. It is coming fast, I agree, but exciting too!
Sioban, I feel what you are going through. I've been in that same boat. However, I would give ten times that to just be done with the hassles that come and all the pain, agony, and stress that had to be endured those many years ago. It would have been well worth to give my ex the freedom to not have to pay up, if he would relinquish rights. It may have worked out in the end except the judge in our case was so bound and determined to "force" "dead-beat-dads" to be a part of children's lives and grant them joint custody, even if they would never pay up, nor be there in any part of the childrens' life. That added stress to trying to make ends meet, and being everything to your young children, those days are a real blurr. Hang in there, your tough, and remember to pat yourself on the back occasionally. NO-ONE knows the trouble you've seen but you! So you are entitled to a bit of self gratification! You've earned it!
