Thanks NavyWife2010..
My hubby actually got to email me last night while I was at work and said he would try to get back on later to read my response. He thenwrote me a FB message later last night and said he couldn't get his email to work/log him in. :/ Hopefully he can read my emails soon. ..I'm SO glad I got to hear from him. It made my week.
..This is your Hubby's first deployment as well? I'm glad I'm not the only one I know going through this for the first time. haha God Bless and don't be afraid to write if you need someone to talk to. :)
Has anyone got to hear from their Vicksburg Sailor's just yet? I know it's really early, so I'm not in any rush.. first time Deployment experience.. so just curious if anyone knows the rough estimate of how long it takes them to receive/reply to first letters/emails. :)
..And by the way, Thank you Alyse for the information about the post office care package kits/boxes. My mother-in-law and I got some sent to our place to send off to my husband/her son here shortly. Good idea. Thanks.
You are able to email them to their Navy email account and they will check as they are allowed/have time. My husband gave me the ships address so that 'snail' mail is also an option throughout to write letters.
If you are not on the Family Readiness Group's emailing list for family members, PM me and i can give you their email addresses so they can add you to it. If you don't have the ship's address for your loved one, they will give it to you there.
Hope this helped a little. I too wish I could've been on the dock to see them depart.
..also, friendly reminder of OPSEC!! Be sure not to give out dates, post any countdowns or personal info. We don't want to jeopardize any of our sailors safety. :)
Have a blessed day.
Thoughts, Prayers, & Smooth sailing! GO NAVY <3
How do we get things mailed to them? I unfortunately didn get to see them leave port but his wife of 20 days is there to see him off; I think if would be great to write and send via mail rather than just email.
Yes its uss vicksburg and then they show pictures of what the ship is doing sometimes, not all the time but its neat pictures.
All i see is what is on facebook. They show neat pictures of them when they are on the ocean. I hope and pray they stay safe.
Thanks for howing me this site, Betty. :)
I'm very excited to physically see that I'm not the only sailor's wife/family member going through all this stuff. My husband is aboard the Vicksburg & we were just married in late december of this last year, so i'm new to the military wife scene. lol
Any info or details that anyone could share would be wonderful and much appreciated. :)
