i've mentioned some of this before in other groups, but i just found this one and figured it can't hurt to try everywhere, and often. simply because it could be relevant in the future i am male. my fiance is in virginia and i am trying to move there for love, closeness, etc. i am currently in the area and any advice on housing, work, actually getting married (i know nothing, not only am i a guy, but i am as new as they come to the navy) even just an explanation on acronyms would help lol. i say a lot of this laughing but i really have no clue. thanks all
You're fiance should be able to apply for housing once you are married. She can ask around and someone will point her in the right direction. Also, if you haven't moved yet, she will be able to apply for re-imbursment of your moving expenses. They pay up to a certain amount. Everyone I've known applied for and got the maximum because it's expensive to move.
You should also be able to apply pretty much anywhere. A good link I've used is www.indeed.com. This site has links from all over and posts all jobs listed pretty much anywhere online. It updates throughtout the day daily. Once you are married you will also be eligible to work on base. Most of the spouses I know that work, do so on base.
As for getting married, go down to the court house and get a lisence. They can likely even do your vows there if you want.
