Would love to go to meet and greet but, guess what, we will be in VA Beach the 28th.  Flying out that morning  for PIR in GL!!! Yee Ha!!!  Our spring break is the week before and my daughter and I will probably be visiting family in Va Bch. that week also.  Sorry it won't work.

Hi everyone, My name is Lora. I live in Western NC but my daughter and son-in-law are both based in VA Beach. I am coming there for Spring Break the last week of April. We are planning a meet and greet Lunch for Thursday April 28th at 11 am and would love to have as many members from Navy Moms as possible to meet us. If you can bring your Sailor that would be great too. There is an event set up for this and you can go to events and click on the calendar on April 28th and RSVP. I look forward to meeting a bunch of new friends and I hope you can all come :-) Thanks so much, Lora

Please send me an email as well and let me know your email address and phone number. We will decide where to meet once we see how many can come. My email is: uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com   Thanks Again

There is a base in Dahlgren which is about 1 1/2 hours north of Richmond, but Norfolk is the only home port for aircraft carriers on the East Coast.  Our son hopes to be flying off a carrier. The only other home port for carriers is California.  Praying for Norfolk.  Of course if he ends up with helicopters, no telling where he could be stationed.

Judy, Not too familiar with that part of the state.  I am in Concord.  My husband is Postmaster in Meherrin. Anywhere close?   We are so new into this NAVY stuff and so far a lot of emotions.  It will get better.

JSma2, my daughter and I travel to Richmond often to shop.  Girls day out!  takes about two hrs.  Norfolk for you would be a blessing.  Isn't there a base in Dalgren Va?  Is that close?

Hello all,

I am in Midlothian (Richmond).  My son graduated OCS in Feb.  He is now in Pensacola for flight training.  Hope he will be commissioned in Norfolk, but that is a couple of years off, yet.

Hello ,

New NAVY mom living near Lynchburg.   Not too many moms from this area.  Son will PIR 4/29.  I so enjoy reading all of the postings on NFM's.  Have been a blessing as this is all so new to us.  Learning so much.  Thanks!

Hello

We have a SR that has PIR 2/11/11 - He left for GL early Sept. and was in the Medical until Dec.  We are so excited to get to see him in a couple of weeks.

It's been a long time since I've been on here. Too long. I just read Donna's posts.

For those of you who have sailors that are new to the area, or if you are in the military and new here yourself, there are two things I'd like to let you know about. First, my wife and I live in Virginia Beach. I'm a retired Navy chaplain (I also spent 10 years enlisted).

We have a fellowship in our home for servicemen and women. We get together Saturday evenings from 5-9 and eat, play board games, watch DVDs, go miniature golfing, and do other special events types of things. We also get together on Sunday afternoons from 1-5 for a big home cooked meal (Yvonne is a great cook!) and fellowship.

If you have sailors stationed here, or you're stationed here, and want to meet people, make friends, and have some fun doing it, we'ld love to meet you. Check out our profile page and if you're interested, contact us.

That was item number one. Now for item number two. I am also one of the pastors at Azalea Garden Church in Virginia Beach. If you're looking for a good, family oriented, friendly church, come check out our services. We're located at 1541 Centerville Turnpike in Virginia Beach.

Please don't feel lonely here. You have friends here that you just haven't met yet!

Happy Thanksgiving. .

My son left for BC on 11/3 and his PIR is 1-7-11. He is planning on going on to Charleston after BC. Does anyone have a recruit going to Nuclear school in Charleston or already there?
