Hey wisconsinmom...that is neat they are both on the same ship. I will have to ask Brit is she knows anyone in that area! Yes, Brit has been really busy with all the qualifications. We were signed up to go on the last Family Day last aug. It was canceled and then the hurrican came...silly me, why am I telling you? You know this. do you go to Norfolk often? I am hoping to go at least once before they leave for their long deployment next year?
When is your son coming home for Christmas? Brit is coming right after Christmas...like the 28th for 10 days...I can't wait. Is your son coming home for Thanksgiving?
Well I look forward to talking again with you soon. Take care and have a great weekend. Kim
Hey Britt'sMom, my son is on the Ike right now too! He is with a squadron the VAQ-140 Patriots. They are doing carrier qualifications now to prepare for deployment. He has been in 2 years now and was with the Ike for the last deployment. We got to go on a tiger cruise when they returned and had a blast.
Everyone enjoy the nice weather this weekend!!
Hello everyone!! I have been out of town for what seemed like forever, (just about 3 weeks), and soooo happy to be back. The Picnic, it was so nice to meet you all. I am looking forward to another get together...
Welcome to all of you who have recently joined! This is a very proud group of woman and I am so happy to be a part of this!
My Daughter is in Norfolf, on the USS Eisenhower right now. She is an Air Person...she has been in since Feb of this year. So far she is liking it...it is just being away from home that is taking a little getting use to for both of us. I am so very proud of her, but miss her more than I can say...
I look forward to hearing from you all about your sons and daughters...take care everyone.
Philly5, I am just getting back on and checking the messages. I am guessing that your sailor is having is PIR in just a few hours! How exciting! Congratulations to him and to you! I am sure the word Pride has a new meaning.
Denise, what type of arts and crafts do you do? I love to do counted cross stitch. I always have at least one project going and another 3 or 4 to do be done. For years, I have wanted to learn to quilt. On Monday, I will begin a class.
Philly5: PIR will be wonderful!! Congratulations to your new sailor.
Fay and GodBless: my son has been in a little over a year. He's with LuckyEleven. Hoping to go and see him around Thanksgiving.
