It was 1 year +1 week ago that I was in your shoes, Philly5...Welcome to the roller coaster.  We are all here for you!!  Write letters..lots and lots of letters.  My son said that was the best part of his day. It turned out it was the best part of my day as well. BC is meant to test his mettle, but it does the same to you, unfortunately. Be strong, we are all here for you!!

Philly5 - this can be a very emotional time.  don't worry that it takes a little bit to get a letter from him for the first time.  You will get one in about a week or so that is what I called a fill in the blanks letter.  but that will have his address so you can start to write. I know my daughter said that is something that really help keep her going.  I think it is the one 'good' thing they get to look forward to...hang in there and if you need to chat contact me whenever you need.  If you would like my actually email to make it a little easier to chat please let me know and I will get it to you.  Take care and the best of luck to you and your son.

My son left today and we got to see him do his swear in at MEPS Milwaukee.  It was amazing,  I am sooo proud.  Also got the phone call that he made it :)  how emotional!!

Oh my - I just type in navy mom shirt or navy mom sweatshirt or navy mom gear or navy mom clothing... there are a gazillion different places that have them!  Zazzle and cafe press are very cool because you can customize!  Also, after PIR your Sailor should have had an order form for thier divisions design that you can order off of too!!  :-)

mom2nw - love it!! Isn't it nice when people let us know they appreciate our Sailors' sacrifices, and ours as well :-)  See, I knew someone would get you!!

I ordered my N4M tshirt from cafepress.....along the right side bar on this screen about half way down there are links to 3 companies...zazzle and prinfection are the other ones.  I think I got a Navy Mom tshirt when we were down at PIR-either from the NEX or the mall at Gurnee, and I picked up a Seabee one when we were on base in Gulfport

haha, Jen.. I was holding out my hand to get a pretzel to taste test some dip and the lady shook my hand and said 'Thanks for being a Navy Mom' and someone else asked where I got my shirt because her uncle just joined.

I wasn't able to attend the meet 'n greet this summer, so I love the idea of another opportunity to meet some other Wisconsin moms.  I'm an hour north of Madison, two hours to Milwaukee.  Any weekend would be fine with me, unless of course we're at Great Lakes visiting our Sailor!

As I stated, I have a very open schedule.  So please just let me know what works for others and I will assume it is going to work for me.  I am really looking forward to meet other moms'!
