I'm an hour north of Madison and an hour south of Stevens Point.  I would be able to make it to Point, but it would require a tad more planning for Eau Claire.  :)  Either way, I look forward to meeting all of you!

Moms attending the WI MOMS meet & greet we need some input...is Eau Claire to far to drive for some?  would it much more of a distance than stevens point?  how many families plan on attending?

thanks

Kris, thank you for your leg-work!  Eau Claire is fine by me if you know of some better options there!

Can't wait to meet the WI N4M's!! :-)

Congrats on getting time w/ your Sailor!!   Another Stennis mom - awesome!!

I called the parks director for Stevens Point & asked him about parks, pavillions, etc.  He mentioned Pfiffner I said we didnt want to pay if possible.  He said at all the parks the pavillions (free/or cost) ususally get "saved" like by 6am. I said could we grab orphan picnic tables & put them together, etc...he said it wouldnt be an issue.  So hard to coordinate when not familiar with area!

(We have so many more options in Eau Claire & alot are free)

I will try to find a detailed map this weekend & early next week post tentative plans.  (my sailor is on leave before he reports to the Stennis so I'm trying to spend time with him).

Have a great weekend everyone.

I was looking more at just the park itself, but I suppose using the building would maybe be an option?  Although I would think there would be a shelter /area that would be free to use - free sounds better to me  :-)

Jen  Thanks for the well wishes.  Our daughter married a wonderful young man who is in the Air Force.  The ceremony was beautiful.

I received the 15 second phone call last night around 11:00 p.m.  Thanks to all of the veteran moms, I didn't expect anything more than, "I'm here, everything is fine, you'll be getting a letter in about three weeks."

Susan - I totally hear you!! All those non-military families tried to tell me I should have been prepared, but they didn't get it :-)  We get it, and we'll be here for you all the way!  Congrats on your new son-in-law!!
