Ok, Moms; Remember to Breathe...&...Pray.  Some of you may not like how I put this, but believe it or not, it has calmed me MANY times:

When my brother was about to leave for his 2nd trip to Iraq a few years ago, I was crying on the phone & stressing out over his leaving.  He reminded me that he was trained very well to do his job & he knows his job very well.  But when God calls his number (which could happen at anytime, riding his Harley, driving his truck, or flying that chopper) then it will be his time.     I know that his reminding me of that helped me to survive that tour & 2 more after that.  Now he is almost 1 year retired from the Army.

An now I get to stress over all our sailors & all the others serving our country.  As us Moms do best.  If it helps to know, I'm glad I shared it.  If not, just remember to breathe & pray.

Yeah - but just because we know doesn't mean we have to like it, lol :-)  This time of year, all I can think about is spring!!  Bring on the green & blossoms!!

Hi there mom2nw!  You are seeing grass!?!?  Oh, how I long for green!! :-)

Comment by mom2nw on March 4, 2011 at 10:42am

Hi Wisconsin Moms!

warming up and I can see grass!!

My son is a "Dirt Sailor" (lol...their words, not mine) a Seabee and right now is in Gulfport.  He will most likely never be a ship, which is fine with him, I think.  Unfortunately he said something about A-stan for next year.

Yes, Denise, Germantown is a northern suburb of Milwaukee; I'm sure that's NOT what the ship is named for!  I was just kinda taken aback when I saw that for a name for a ship. Please thank your son for me on serving on my town's namesake...I'm very proud of all of our sailors/soldiers.

Hello ladies!

Doin' ok Simply!  :-)  Life's getting pretty bumpy - but it's ok.

I just want to know if he's going to be land based or on a carrier or what-ever, not that I can do anything about it either way, but just to know would be nice!

I know this Lybia business is scaring the heck out of me too...  it's like I have to remind myself - "Gee Jen, what part of joining the military did you mis-understand?!"

Giving it to God, that's all I can do that will make any difference as far as I can see  :-)

So ladies, I've been away awhile - is there any new news on a get together?

Comment by mom2nw on March 2, 2011 at 7:14pm

Denise, a lot of here have the same feelings and this has been the best support system I could have ever found when my son joined in August.  Like Jen I'm just waiting for a call to say he's being deployed, but thankful he is still in the states right now.

Denise, I know what you mean about crying for families that I don't even know....

also, if your son wants any pictures from the town "Germantown"  ..that's where I live!!! lol , I'd be glad to take some and send to you!

Mary, Denise, & Lisa; thinking of all of you; prayers to your families & sailors.

Jen, How are you?

I'm stressing right now, praying my sailor will be approved to come home in May for a celebration we are planning.  My gut tells me he won't be here, but my heart prays he will make it.

Denise - I feel for you!!!  I just hope and pray that when mine gets his orders, I'll have a pretty good idea where he is!!  Keep hangin' in there!!!
