Andysmom--my son is not in spec ops, he did this all on his own. He graduated top in his class at A-school and in C-school. He's a smart kid, loves math & science! His job requires alot of it, he's happy he chose this job.
Congrats Richardsmom, on your new sailor!! Sure does give you a nice cozy feeling doesn't it! Enjoy your weekend with him.

Well what a whirl wind week!!! Our son arrived home from Pensacola Wed. before Thanksgiving & left Fri. for his first duty station; Pax River Maryland, where he arrived Safely! We were able to have him home for Thanksgiving & celebrate a bit of Christmas while he was home. I managed to get the tree up & decorated all in just a few hours! Believe me with the way my work is right now, that is a miracle!! Hope everyone was able to have a good holiday!! Welcome Dana; it will be a couple weeks before you get another letter, but write, write, write to him! That is what keeps them going. And mom2nw is right, it really doesn't matter what you say they don't care. I read some where that 1 mom accidentally sent her grocery list in a letter; he returned it after adding to it. Check out this website is there a discussion out there that has funny comments in it from SRs during BC. I copied some of those out & sent them to out son. Also, someone posted a generic letter from 1 sailor to another I printed that & sent it. Found out PIR weekend that that generic letter made it around his division about 2 times! I could not believe it!!!!

Hi Dana~ If you join group "Wisconsin Navy MOMs - RSVP for Jan 22 2011" all of the planning info can be found there. There hasn't been a restaurant chosen yet, but the important part was the date.

Wow, all kinds of happenings here the past few weeks! I am happy to say my son has finished his move back home with us and I am amazed at how neat and orderly his room is. If I didn't see it I wouldn't believe it! :)) The strangest order came from my sons recruiter. He needed to meet at his recruiters office today and a group traveled to GL base for a weigh in. Has anyone else heard of this? Just curious. By the way, I'm not tossing leftovers out with my son home.

Nic's mom (I'm a Nick's mom!, too) : the next 8 weeks will be a roller coaster sadness at missing your SR, then elation when you run to the mailbox and you see his handwriting! ...check us out here and on your PIR group---we're all here to support each other! Write lots of letters---I always thought mine to my son were a little rambling, but he said mail call was the best part of his day, no matter what was in it. Join us....and anyone else out there that hasn't heard about it...at the Meet and Greet in January in Madison! Hang in there.

nascarnov ship07div051 - Thx for the encouraging words. I plan to hunt down the recruiter for that address, got to hear from him soon. He hasn't even been gone a week yet, but I'm not use to not hearing about what is going on in his life. I just got home today and his box arrived already (Gee that was fast).
