Rhonda, congratulations, bragging is allowed! Richardsmom, I'm sure Battlestations went fine. Enjoy your weekend with your son and Congratulations. Simply, how wonderful to have him home at this time, and please tell him Congratulations on his A-school graduation. Mine will be home at Christmas, back to A-school for 2 weeks and then back home again for another 2 weeks after his A-school graduation. I'm toying with the idea of driving down for graduation and bringing him back...driving to Missouri in January???

Rhonda, that is GREAT!!! Richardsmom, I'm sure your son did great in Battlestations! And Andysmom is right. He won't have leave, but will have liberty. He will need to be back to the base each night.Yes, if you can plan on staying until Tuesday! Check with the hotel & see if you can check out earlier if the plans change. They should be used to that being in that location. Tell him Congratulations from all of us Moms!!!! We have been enjoying our son; who got leave after A school graduation, he came home Wednesday & will head to his first duty station on Friday. I'm hoping to get my tree up this afternoon so we can have a little Christmas just in case he can't make it home for it later!

nascarnov...feel free to use your sons first name as long as you have set your profile as private. But watch who you add as you have ship and division posted to your name. I would just change your name to something w/o the division or ship.

Rhonda...awesome for your son! Is he in special operations? He had to have worked extremely hard for that! Very happy for him. Richards mom...Leave?? Not happening. But Liberty? If he's not grad and go, you may have a weekend with him but he will have to be back in his room by like 10pm and can be back out at 8am. My suggestion is that you get a hotel with a swimming pool and hot tub for him to relax in. We stayed at the LaQuinta and it was awesome! Keep us posted. He may get leave for Christmas. Depends what he has built up and what they allow. Best wishes :)

Hello everyone... my son is going through Battlestations tonight!!! I am so nervous and excited for him. I do have a question does anyone know if the sailors get leave only for the weekend or will they get leave the Monday after they graduate? Our son will be leaving for A-school on Tues we are thinking about staying at GL through Tues. Just wondering if we would get to see our sailor on Monday. Thx!

I got a great phone call yesterday from my son and I have never heard him so happy. "Mom, I made E-4!" The happiness I heard in his voice was more than the "I'm a sailor call." He has gone from an E-1 to an E-4 in a years time. He gets frocked this Friday when they are out at sea, I wish I could be there to see it! Bragging just a bit, very proud of my son!!!

Nic's Mom- It will be a ride of emotions, but you will be fine, and so will your SR! Positive thoughts, and write LOTS of letters! Don't wait until you get his address! BTW - you will be able to get his address from his recruiter in a couple days.
