Hey Ladies! Ok - my cousin is asking how many rooms we would need for the meet & greet, so - I will also post this on the RSVP, please respond there - but just wanted to give everyone a head's up. If you think you would be staying in Madison for the night instead of driving back home, please let me know so I can pass it along to her. Thank you !

Welcome, Dana. Yes, we all know what you're going through! ---ask questions, commiserate, exasperate! I know it will be a very special Thanksgiving for all of those sailors heading out soon. My son still has some boot camp buddies down at GL and I was thinking of "adopting" them for a day at Thanksgiving....hopefully, Nick can find the same kind of arrangement with a family close to Fort Leonard Wood?? Look down a little, WI Navy Moms are having a meet and greet in January...love for you to join us!

Hi, all. My name is Dana and I am a WI Navy mom in Milwaukee. I'm really new to this, as my son leaves for Boot Camp this month just after Thanksgiving.

Good Morning,Where can I reply for the Meet&Greet in January? I know, the holidays are not even here yet but they will sneak up so fast I just don't want to miss this very special occasion. I looked under events and didn't find anything. Maybe I'm too early? Lori

Mich Mom---I too remember that 1st call. Almost ran someone over getting out in the hallway where I could talk privately! :) My son's div also earned calls like that but theirs was drill & ceremony inspection. He was SO PROUD.
Fay-Welcome! Glad to have you aboard! I, too, was a sailor's wife! :) I live west of Waukesha a little ways.
Love that Map idea!! What a great way to keep track of where they have been! :) I am SO looking forward to January's get together & meeting everyone!!! ;)

Whew - lots of activity since I was on last! Sorry for not keeping up ;-) Hi Linda!
I like the map idea Susan - thanks for that!
I do believe I am PMSing, so this is my week to be sad and mad and feel that life is not fair, and I wish it would just go away bcause I do not like me so much when I get in this funk. Damn hormones, damn them!
LOL. Well anyhoo - great to see everyone chatting it up and keeping connected! I will really try to get my housework done and keep on top of it so I can hop on more often! Well, speaking of which, I better get at it - love to all! Jen

Mich, you will survive boot camp as well! I'm so glad there are so many of us here with such diverse experiences. My son just started classes at his A-school in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and then heads to Gulfport...go Seabees Rhonda, I like the map idea, my son is already talking about Japan and other places half way around the world. I, too am grateful for this chance for him to travel to places I would only dream of going.

Hello to everyone... I feel so bad I have not been able to post anything on here for over a week! I was in Chicago visiting my sis and her family. I went back and read some of the older posts in response to mine. Thank you to everyone for the encouraging words. Knowing I have a soft to vent my crazy feelings has made this experience to much easier.

I have wonderful news I received my first letter last week along with my first phone call!!! My sons division has received all perfect scores on all their tests (I do not remember what my son called it... sorry!). Because they have done so great the entire division received phone privileges. Words can not express the happiness when I heard his voice!!! He sounds exhausted; but he IS surviving boot camp! Thx for letting me gush!!!
