welcome, welcome! So glad you found us. LOL on the nice weather...how long have you lived in WI?? just kidding! I'm so happy all of my leaves blew probably all the way up to Green Bay--we're just north of Milwaukee. My son is in A-school and set to graduate and come home (yippee) the middle of Jan or so.

Welcome to the group nytesail! I too am new to the whole Navy world and I'm glad I was told about this site. It's amazing the wealth of knowledge and warmth that you'll find here. For the meet and greet, I was told to join the group "Wisconsin Navy MOMs - RSVP for Jan 22 2011" to RSVP, then pray for nice weather!

Hi I just found all of you, Amen. I'm just going to hang out and catch up on some of the stories and who is going where and when and such. I have a son who will be leaving for BC 3/11. I just saw something about a meet & greet in Jan. Would love to be there. My best to all, Lori

Mich, I'm just getting through with PIR (10/8.) and my son said getting mail was the best part of his day. He loved the Packer game wrap-ups I'd print off their home page. I too felt like I was babbling! LOL The best part of his day for the price of a stamp !?..can't beat that! Good Luck it WILL get easier, promise.

Susan, it had better NOT be a record snowfall month....by Jan I will need the break & some fun. My busy season at work started winding up in August & is going strong, will keep going until Jan. 1 or about a week later. I'm just finishing work tonight. Have my fingers crossed.
Mich Mother of Richard-Hang in there & keep writing. They survive on your mail. I would basically write a daily diary of what each of us did. It seemed like babbling to me, but he didn't mind at all. And then threw in some post cards & regular cards for encouragement. Also, ask in your PIR or the Boot Camp group for the questionaires. They love getting those! It is an easy letter! :)

Mich mother of Richard - ditto to what TerryE said, I only received 3 ltrs the whole time & they were all generic & I missed his 2 calls. Also I think most of the calls need to be earned by the individual divs, my sons div never got privledges because he had a few who were always getting into trouble which rolls down to everyone. But I'll keep my fingers crossed your a LUCKY MOM! p.s. the 'kid in a box' was a tough one for me- I couldnt imagine how it must feel to our kids.

Pl;ease help me to spread the word, i'm trying to reach as many mom's as possible.

INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the holidays coming up, I can see where this could be a real problem.

The newest virus circulating is the UPS/Fed Ex/USPS Delivery Failure. You will receive an e-mail from UPS, Fed Ex, or USPS along with a packet number. It will say that they were unable to deliver a package sent to you on such-and-such a date. It then asks you to print out the invoice copy attached. DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS! Pass this warning on to all your PC operators at work and home. This virus has caused millions of dollars in damage in the past few days. Snopes confirms that it is real.
