SimplyJRB~I joined, I RSVP'd, and I've totaled. Thanks for the group name! Now we just have to hope that this January isn't a record snowfall year!

OMGoodness! Now I am kind of glad my son is not a Nuke, but I'm sure there are stressors and pressure in every field, and we all need to keep our Sailors in our prayers as they live out thier days and pursue thier dreams, and protect us all!

Well all - any idea where we'd like to get together in January!?
Comment by Kris, Stevens mom on October 18, 2010 at 7:54pm
Susan - my son is a Nuke, it can be very stressful and intense. this past summer they had 2 suicides & supposedly a couple of attempts while he was at NNPTC. He's happy with his decision but he sees alot of his friends struggling.
I'm glad your son chose something he thinks he'll like, that is very important.
I believe recruiters get more to sign people up for the nuke program so sometimes they push it even its its not a good fit. (I'm not bad mouthing recruiters so please no one take offense)

I thought the roller coaster ride ended during high school. Really, I have to dye my hair every 20 minutes because of that boy!

Susan, I have heard it said a million times, this is a roller coaster ride! All I can say is; i hope you have your seatbelt on & buckled well. My son graduated basic on 9-24, now his is in Florida. The ride has been complete roller coaster & we still have plenty to go! Feel free to vent or ask questions; we are here to hold your hand!!! :)
