Decided to create a place where wrestling moms could talk about the wonderful world of wrestling. I have two wrestlers, one that wrestled from 2nd grade to 11th grade and one that started in kindergarten and is currently in 9th grade.

Well we came home with 3rd place for the District... same routine,, Lost only once and to the same kid! UGH!  Sorry not trying to be a bad sport but hate seeing my little guy get heart broken and he so wanted to wrestle for 1/st/2nd.  We still have state next weekend!

Myson weighed in at 49.2!  He was 2 ounces over and they let him through.. this is the 2nd time due to ounces...UGH.. this is District so he had to wrestle at 49's since they base it on his year weight.. lets hope at State next week they are that nice.  Wish us luck for tomorrow.....

I see tons of girls in it here also... they are some tough cookies..

My son got beat by a girl his 2nd year and boy did he seek revenge,,,he was not able to beat her till the following year at the ripe ole age of 7, but the smile he had was PRICELESS!

Yes my son had about 3 months to prepare and he had to learn the Navy swim as well.. he worked his butt off. I am hoping he stays at Pre Buds for awhile to keep getting trained!  Once your son gets to BC, I can share tons of info with you.  My son is ready for it to end! LOL

August  seems so long but it will be here before you know it!  I love how you said when he gets to BUDS  ;)   I will for sure take you up on that offer....your son will be gradutaing at a perfect time I think,  Not to cold yet! I know a mom whos son PIR on Oct 29 and he wont get to Buds till the end of Feb, I guess the winter months slow them down some and add more time BUT they get longer training!

.I will be able to pass along great info to you when your son leaves.  The 800 RDC's are a tough set of men, I can tell you that.  My son said they are mean., hahahahahaha

District is right before State.....They will seed them and everything.

What is the program called you are putting them in?

2boys1girl-is your son a DEP waiting for BC?   Did he get the contract already to go or is he testing still as a Depper?  Just curious, my son is in BC with that contract now.  We have 18 days to go till PIR>

Good job on the tourney.  Your right,,, stepping up and showing good sportsmanship will out weigh more then if he had not and injured himself more!  Is he ok now?  IS he doing any rehab?

Yea he is a great guy,,, but its so hard to see them cry over their loss,  They work so hard and sometimes the clock can be your worst enemy!  But we have districts this weekend,,, it will be his first!

Well  another ulcer I am sure! LOL

So the match BEFORE 1sr/2nd, my son is up...ahead 4 to 0.... last 20 seconds,,, the kids gets 2 for a takedown and then 3 near fault points and the clock runs out,,,, he wins my son 5 to 4.  SO that put him in the Loser round,, doesnt that sound awful.. All those wins mean nothing once you lose one in Junior Wrestling!   So he wrestles a guy he beat earlier and guess what> The guy beats him.  My son was so frustrated from the first lose he was double heart broken after the second loss.  He worked so hard,  UGH  I seriously leave with High Blood Pressure every Sunday....No medals this week but he did get rewarded by us, I think he went to bed pretty happy.  Mom still has to recover ;(

Good job Cal!! Mamawalrus...both are doing well...Don't know when 2boys1girl will be here..but she said Matt may have torn his hip flexor muscle ? Going to the doc today. He had to forgeit his chamnpionship match due to the injury.

Luke took first at his tourney yesterday and won both matches in the duals we had Friday night there. Pretty sweet. Thought he tore up a knee..but turned out to be not much, he finished the match, won it. and went on to the next day. God bless these boys.
I drive bus for the team, I put on 657 miles this weekend for our trip...I walked in the door at 3:08 this morning....off to a nap!!

Woo HOO Cal!!!!!!   and welcome Tamara.  My recruit was a wrestler for many years and now I have a 9 year old who is wrestling...

Hi everyone....my little guy weighed in today at 48.6!   10 more ounces and he would of been scratched from the 49lb's! Good thing my husband gave him a light breakfast.   LOL

He has vengence on his mind to the kid  that beat him for 1st last week and his ready to go.  I will let you all know how he does tomorrow.. we start at 8:30 am.. lots of prayers!

Mistydawn/2boys1girl.... how are your boys doing?

Hi Tamara!!  I hope all goes well for him!!  My son was out most of last year due to a fractured radius and torn MCL in his elbow from practice.  So it hurts mom until those first couple of matches are over with.

Comment by mistydawn_67 on January 18, 2011 at 11:01pm
Very well could be..let's just hope they don't get lazy and need a butt chewing at the same time...hopefully one can encourage the other!!!
