Hi Kimberly, it's been awhile for Meridian so I can't recall everything but basics for my son is you could have your vehicle, phone and receive mail/packages, if needed (He ordered laptop). He was not immediately able to start school right away because of classes being filled (maybe took a week or so). I also recall him finishing sooner than anticipated and he came home for a week before heading out to Norfolk, VA for his orders.

Most of your answers can be answered by looking through past posts on this thread. It's pretty much a similar experience in Meridian.

My daughter will leave for BC on 1/9/18 and then (God Willing) on to Meridian for A School. Anyone with a sailor on this path?  Also interested on info on A School info.  Thank you.

ThNk you both for replying. My son was in school in Dam Neck and when he got there it was three to a room so was just wondering. Are there lots of things to keep them occupied during their down time or shuttles to town etc?

My son didn't have a car when he was there. It's been 6 years though, I think they had two to a room and just navy. Good luck to your daughter!

My daughter will be heading off to BC in Jan then on to YN school.  Sorry for all the questions to follow, cause I know it is a short school but do most folks try to get their car while there or do they wait til they get to their first duty station?  What is dorm life like there, meaning is it 3 to a room or do they have new styled dorms?  Is it a mixed service base or solely a Navy base?  Thank you for any info you can provide.

Super.

My daughter loved being a YN. There can be so much more to it than just office work. If the Navy had allowed her to remain a YN and not cross rated her to CTR she'd would have been a lifer.
