seems like no one on the mccain will be able to this year if ship is still out
daisyjule so sorry for you too. We have not heard from either of our sons in about 2 months. Wendy80 so glad your son got to come home and you had time with him. Our one son was coming home in Dec. so he could go skiing but now it looks like we will have to wait. I am hoping the airline refund or change his ticket date. I am sure the sailors will be able to get leave at another time maybe in the spring. Blessings to all.
My son is scheduled for leave I hope and pray his is not cancelled.
My son is on the John McCain and has also had his leave time canceled. He was unable to come home because he has only been there a year but was still looking forward to some down time. In comment to SailorB-Man my son left right after Christmas last year and it was a sad time for all of us but one year latter I can say that he is well and we have all adjusted. I miss him terrible but I know that he is happy most days. He has met a very nice girl there and that has also helped being so far away. We can't wait to see him but don't know when that will be. Prayers for you and your Sailor and good luck to you all!
Hi there Navy Moms! new to this group, but have been here since march 2011. My son is on the Lassen in Yokosuka. - Im reading about some of the sailors not being able to come home? So sad for them and you!! Our son was home for 1 week in October, it had been 466 days since he went to Japan and we had seen him. What a blessing to have my arms around him even for such a short time frame.
Glad I found this group - stay strong Moms!!!
Just joined this group as my son will be going to this base as an MA after the Christmas holiday. He is just graduating MA school this weekend. Are there any other MA mothers on here?
Per news here - This is probably telling me that my son will not be home as planned. N Korean missile launch planned:
The launch, set for Dec. 10 to 22, is likely to heighten already strained tensions with Washington and Seoul as the United States prepares for Barack Obama's second term as U.S. president and South Korea holds its own presidential election on Dec. 19.

Congrats on your visit and glad you had a wonderful time. Have a safe trip home.
I just stayed at the New Sanno - it was lovely! If any of you take the journey to Japan I highly recommend it.
I'm on my way home today. Japan is truly amazing. I probably won't get here again while my sailor is still here, but I do hope to make this journey again sometime.
