My son is headed to Yokosuka on Saturday, 9/22/12. He was supposed to be there by the 17th, but no seats headed there. He will be on the USS Blue Ridge.

My Dad is 82 and has memory problems but his eyes still sparkle when he talks about his Navy days. At my son's send off party we showed my Dad a utube video of Yokosuka. He watched intently then said "sure has changed since 1952!" LOL!

Rosiemo - certainly hope it works out for you to go. Sounds like a GREAT trip.

awhat - that's neat about your dad and son.

Now you made me wonder about my dad. He was wounded in Korea and spent some time in Japan recovering before they sent him back to Korea. He's dead now, so no one to ask?!

Hello Yokosuka Moms! My son was sent to Yokosuka shortly after boot camp. The really cool part about it is that my Dad was also stationed there in the 1950's Korean conflict. So proud of both if my Sailors! What a legacy!

The Fitz lost a young man this past week while he was on leave.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  Info can be found on the Fitz's fb page.
