Hi TNN, my son is also the BR.  I finally talked to him yesterday morning and then we skyped last night.  We were so happy to hear from him.  I hope your daughter is doing well and that you have heard from her.

Delete Comment Hi ladies!  I'm new to this site.  My son received orders recently for the Lassen (in Yokosuka) - so I thought you all probably have alot of knowledge to share.  He's very excited - but I'm a little nervous about him being so far away.  From what I've read from all of your earlier posts, it sounds like life is pretty good over there, so I'm sure he'll be fine.  Just wanted to introduce myself.

Got a call from Jason tonight.  He said the typoon tossed the ship around quite a bit but all is well.  Sounded really good.  After not talking to him for almost a month is was really good hearing from him.  Said he "might" get to come home on leave after a school in California this winter.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thinking of all the military past and present this Memorial weekend. Thank you for your service and thank you to the families that stand with you.

Rosemary, If you use Fed Ex or UPS it has to go off base. You can pay more and get tracking from the USPS, too.

Rosemary,  The only way you can track a package would be to send it via Fed Ex or UPS.  Of course, that is much more expensive but at least you can track it. I have sent a couple of packages that way to my son's apartment. The hassle with that is someone has to sign for the package.

mudubtxmom - Glad to hear your son arrived in Yokosuka ok.  I expect when the Shiloh is back in port  it won't take him long to get used to shipboard life.  From what Jason says the "cranking" (kitchen duty) was the worst thing he's experienced since his arrival last fall.

Hi mdubtxmom. My son is currently on the Shiloh as his job is similar yours and mine may probably meet.
