Thanks for all advise - this is his first duty station so it is very hard. He did after boot camp and A school finally got to come home for 3 weeks that was so nice. Miss him lots! Our family is Big on sending stuff (edible things candy what not or what ever he says he would want)So if your son or daughter is on the USS Cowpen CG63 you are in for a treat! And my son loves to share what he gets!

Jackie C. UPS won't send to a APO or FPO so we have no choice but to send USPS the Flat Rate boxes and labels are free.

Ang...MozMom you crack me up...yes everyone sniffs, don't tell. Went to the store to get a blue candle yesterday--they were all scented something weird. I asked if they had 'navy blue ocean' and the looked at me like I was nuts. Now they did have 'sea shell' and 'dark night' but I was looking for something closer to home.

Rosiemo thanks for the word from our ship. I haven't heard much. Mine tells me not to send the japanese need it more, and I tell him to keep it and share it. Honestly he is such an easy child and non demanding, I now worry if it bugs his shipmates that he's so low maintenance. And if he smells bad--think I'll put in more soap and deoderant.

He'd be irritated I said that. :)  But I'm a mom, and I worrying is my job!

yes, prayers for the family of Taylor Anderson, teacher and first american lost in the tsunami.

Me too. KTS. When mine was in Baghdad I sent to four different soldiers including my sailor. Filled them to the hilt with goodies.  What ever mine wanted I would just duplicate and spread what I bought into the boxes. I also teach 1st and 2nd graders at church and had my kids make cards and sent. He said his group really enjoyed those. It also teaches little ones to reach out.

thats awsome I'm going to have to start shopping...Kathy do you go to UPS or the postoffice. I'm going to have to do some comparison shopping. I don't have much experience with send packages.
