with schools closing and damage to supply chain to people of japan (food, water, gas, rolling blackouts and limited elec) it seems reasonable that getting our families safely out of the way is a good choice. their routine is disrupted anyway. let's calm one another.

forrests mom--mine is not on the Shiloh, but there is limited connectivity on mine's ship. could be he is busy during the times they can access. mine tells me in 1 sentence email that he receives though he can't often send. they are safe but busier as the situation gets more serious.

Prayers went up again this morning from my wonderful ladies at our Thursday morning Bible Study.  Lord, help those involved see the opportunity to reach out to others with your heart, eyes and hands.  Please bless all the ladies who are one with this group as we have the humble pride in knowing our children are from you and that they have been directed to serve our country so we can continue to have the freedom to worship you.

I have been following on fb   Commander Fleet Activities.   It is posting frequently and is "straight from the horses mouth"  Information included is about evacuations and how our ships are helping.

Laura, CO of Fitz send word via fb there is voluntary evac of Yokosuka families. I'm not sure of base status. Things must stay fluid at times like these. We are offering prayers and waiting to see how we can as a family send support to them.

Hi all,

This was posted on the USS Geo. Washington's page this morning:

We were just briefed at CNFJ that we are to proceed with a Voluntary Military Assisted Departure from Japan. First flight will be within 24 hours and could depart as early as tonight.  The destination will be Korea where personnel will be processed for further repatriation. Families that desire to depart Yokosuka under this evolution should gather their NEO paperwork, most importantly passport and ID, and prepare no more than 1 bag per person to take with them and pets in travel carriers.  Stay at their homes, buses will come to the housing areas to pick people up. Those living out in town will muster at Fleet Recreation Center. More to follow shortly on the process and priority of personnel departures.

Very respectfully,

Captain Lausman
