Natalie, Have a great time and you'll have to tell us all about it. In two more days, I'll be back in the STATES (YEA)!

Happy Easter to all our sailors around the world and of course, their moms (and family), too!

Jane, good call on the credit cards and bank cards. Our BoA did work at the 7/11. Even if you use your debit or credit card to get money at the hotel they WILL charge you a fee. It is worth it to try to find a 7/11 or another type of ATM to use if you need it. I know we paid for our bullet train tickets with AE and we did get reserved seating. I know it seems like a long time on a train and my sailor was not happy about it at first but then said he probably would not have gotten to Hiroshima if we hadn't done with him.

Natalie, the ride from Tokyo was around 3 1/2 or 4 hours but I don't remember the cost. We left early in the AM and got there around 11:30 or 11:45 am. The boys slept the whole way to Hiroshima. We caught a cab from the train station to the Peace Museum. On the way back to Tokyo, we asked our boys if they thought it was worth spending most of the day on the train to see the museum and both said yes. The first time my husband and I saw it we spent a couple days in Kyoto (two hours to there by train) and then went onto Hiroshima (two hours from Kyoto by train) so we broke it up but didn't have the time for this trip to break it up. I would say that Hiroshima is NOT a place to miss especially if you don't know if you'll get back to Japan. There are different prices for the train because they have first class seat, business, etc like the airlines. You probably can get online and see the prices.

Sounds like you had a great time, Jane. I really liked Kamakura, too. The bullet train was awesome, so clean, and so fast! We had been to Hiroshima once already but when we visited Matt we took both boys.

The temple and museum sit side by side so you can see them in one outing.

Hi Natalie, you need to see the Yasukuni Temple and Yushukan Museum. It honors the war dead of Japan including the war criminals of WW II as well as the kamikazi pilots. The museum is of interest because it tells about WW II from the Japanese prospective. A great town to visit is Kamakura which in near Yokosuka. If you have time take the bullit train to Hiroshima. It is a long trip to Hiroshima but well worth it. Kyoto is a wonderful city full of history.

I want that link tooo :))) Please
Molly put a fare watcher out for all of the sites like Booking buddy, Travelocity, Orbitz, Priceline ect. We got our tickets through Priceline for $560 of course add the taxes and fees and it's another $200, for my hubby and I it was $1600 going Nov. 18th - Dec. 2nd so that's over Thanksgiving, not bad for a holiday although I don't think Japan celebrates Thanksgiving so for them it's not a Holiday, could be why it is lower I guess who knows LOL but hey I'm going to Yokosuka!!!!!
